Fortunately, mostly got trapped on the screen of the radiator. All I had to do, after each pass, was to take the screen out and clean it. Mine is a geared tractor, so I don't have a HST cooler in the way.

And yes, since I was mowing those weeds with that cotton type thingy, the exhaust just blew it all up to the front of the engine.

When I mow weeds in mid to late summer I have a problem with chaff getting in the radiator fins and blocking airflow, resulting in overheating. Never had this problem, but have had coolant boil out. Are your fins clogged? It doesn't look like it from your pictures, but I would check that anyhow. I watch my temp gauge religiously when mowing and stop and blow the fins out if it starts to rise.

I have seen a screen that can be attached either with magnet or attached with twine.
Maybe you can make a screen to overlay the Grille area; watch the Temp Gauge, and if the temp goes up clear the attached screen.
Nothing will make it to the Radiator !

Update: ordered & received new radiator from my dealer. They had it in stock, but are 100 miles away from me and I had a busy week, so I opted for shipping (cheaper than driving regardless!).

Installed it, refilled. Looked over everything twice and thrice, then started the tractor, let it run a short time and then stopped engine. Looked for leaks, bubbles in fluid, milk in oil - none found.

Drove it from the field to my shop area, felt fine going up a steep hill. Looked again for nasties, found none.

Total cost so far: about $450 (radiator, shipping, antifreeze, distilled water, tax).

There is some under-hood foam (looks like it's to enhance the fan action) that was damaged by the fluid blast too. I may be able to glue that back into place somehow, or I may need to replace it; lower priority.

Nice! I'm glad you got it running again without any further issues.

Honestly, it's not that bad of a price for all the stuff you listed.

Yeah that water really pushed the price up
Honestly if there's no other ill effects from my stupidity I consider it a low price to pay.

Live and learn!

Hey, I'm glad you got it running again. Nice to know nothing else cracked or warped.

Did a couple acres of hogging this afternoon.

Kept an eye on the temperature... it didn't go anywhere interesting till near the end of my work; found a bit of stuff on the screen and cleaned it off, after which the temp went back where it was when I started.

Oil and coolant still look good!

We have been using these on our equipment for a few years now with good success. There are other brands on the market. B.
