What else do you do with forks besides lift pallets?

I have not done this but I'll bet you could move a huge pile of brush by just spearing into the lower part of it. Probably improved results if the pile has sat for a while.

I do this frequently!

How do you hold the balled trees? Just sort of balanced on the forks?

Easy as pie. Spread the forks enough to catch the edges of the ball and basket the tree is in. You don't actually set the ball on the forks but just sort of have the forks squeezed in on the sides. Go over the hole and wiggle forward or backward to get the exact fit. If the hole is a little too big I just suspend tree over the hole and toss in dirt until things look right.

I also adjusted a tree that didn't fit right by spearing the forks in the ground and lifting the center and one edge to lift and align. Never got off the tractor.

It couldn't move this huge pile of brush, but it did make the huge pile of brush with the forks:

My neighbor used his to lift and to set my diesel generator in place.

I am not finished building it yet and I haven't taken any pictures yet either ( I will), but I am building an attachment that slips over the forks that has a hydraulic motor that will run off my rear remotes for installing smaller style screw piles for a deck that I am going to build.

I just lift it out of the way when I need the forks alone.View attachment 612605

Do you have any more pictures of how the grapple is attached. I have often thought about building a grapple for my forks but they too have tall frame like yours and really couldn't see how I could make it work.

The mounting bar, supplied by the Thumb company, is welded into the backstop straps; my welder friend is an artist.
He also reinforced the top of the forks where he attached the mount.
That bar is available separately from the company so you can use one thumb on multiple attachments.f2.jpgf1.jpg
