They work well for plastic, wood, and mild steel. They DO NOT work on stainless steel.
Shucks even best quality drill bits have a tough time on SS steel.

Try drilling a hole in steel and get the crap plastic off of it.I used one bit for a couple dozen flowerpot holes. Now it won't cut any more.

Wow. I've drilled through 1/4" steel with mine installing my Piranha bar. I hope you took it back.No plastic on it. The cutting edges are worn down.

Bruce, I am pretty well convinced that you were a victim of a lack of quality assurance and a bad one made it through (hey... it's HF!). I've drilled two holes on my FEL bucket to attach a PTB. Several other holes in thin sheet metal for a HF sand blast cabinet mod, and of course a bunch of plastic large planter pots from Costco... have to replace my oak half wine barrels that are rotting out after 10 or so years of use growing tomato plants. It won't hardly even cut plastic now, but it did fine when new. It has never cut anything but plastic--no metal ever.

Let us know what you think. I have been stewing over one of those for 2 or 3 years now.Ordered a new Quick Hitch today. Able to apply 20% coupon, helped with the shipping.
Just do it! they aren't magic but they are worlds better than doing without.Let us know what you think. I have been stewing over one of those [HF quick hitch] for 2 or 3 years now.
