Driving around with the tailgate down on your pickup truck will increase your fuel mileage. I admit to trying it but was not impressed. There have been a number of engineering reports nay saying it. Lastly, I know of at least one incident where a dropped tailgate became a flying projectile via an accident and killed a hapless driver who otherwise would not have been involved.
I do get a mile or more a gallon when my hard cover is installed on the back of my F150 vs. it off and a closed tailgate.

I keep my tailgate down unless I need it up. The mpg part I don’t know about but the visibility is a lot better with it down.

Knob and tube has been replaced for very good legitimate reasons, anyone defending it should think on it a bit

I use mine every day, not a problem... use it to hang my grease gun on. :D

I vote for a ellipsoid of revolution about the minor axis. Or maybe an oblate spheroid.

The English language is an amazing construct, since there are so many ways to say the same thing. And while the words mean the same thing, there is a subtle inference that they mean something else. It's fun to play with words.

The earth is becoming more like a giant Hemorrhoid...a real pain in the arse.

I just wish all the dust in the bed of the Taco Wagon would blow out if I open the tonneau cover. No such luck. It's stuck there until I wash it out with the garden hose.

I would be afraid my junk would slide out and I would be stuffing it back in. confused3:

Need a better view out back?? Activate either my bed area camera or my backup camera. Man - ain't technology wonderful.

Hey - I remember when side mount rear view mirrors were the "in" thing to have. That was about the same time that turn signals replaced hand signals.

I recall adding aftermarket side mount mirrors with sheet metal screws.

My wife does this, but is fine with the coffee pot and microwave being plugged in all the time.
I don't get it.

Perfectly understandable. All other appliances may be left 'plugged in' in perpetuity AND with the associated power-point/recepticle on/off switch engaged in the ON position.

The toaster, however, MUST be un-plugged when not in use.
