it started on the first bump of the key, has drive, no noises.

along the way I fixed/cleaned/adjusted everything I touched.

I need to adjust the clutch free pedal and put the hood/side panels on it.
Hazard lights? Haven't worked in a decade, work now.
rear work light? replaced with LED, nice contura rocker switch installed.
rear brake light? fixed the ground
three point height lever that was so tight you bent the lever trying to move it? works like butter with a 5.5lb pull.
cracked dash? repaired and reinforced with fiberglass cloth.
I've waxed the paint.

we'll call it a mid life refresh I suppose. eventually I'll end up with it, so I'm just saving myself the hassle later.

Great job! That's a nice success story especially with all the other fixes you got done.

this one is right at face height with it's exhaust. I'm not sure how I'd feel making it taller, it's already a PITA in the orchard.

but that's interesting that you thought it sucked with the low exit.
I guess I'll just leave it.

The two situations where the exhaust fumes were the worst were mowing tall grass where the exhaust was blown into the grass and with the front mount snow blower where the swirling snow would help keep the fumes in your face.

I agree that working in the trees is a pain. Would some sort of a removable extension work for you?

yeah, this things mowing days are long past. a ZT mower replaced it for that job about 10-12 years ago. I stripped all the belly brackets off it this year and pickled the belly mower for long term storage.
It's asically living it's best life as a utility tractor helping to process firewood and running a tiller.

so I did get it out and about last night and it's running well. The three point arms now drop when I shut off the engine.
I could not find a bleed procedure or anything else in the manual.
Just use it until it self bleeds?
It did not do that prior, you could shut it of and the arms would stay up.
I did mess with the knob under the seat, by making it work again, do I need to simply close the needle valve all the way?

put 3 hours on it today. Spread a giant pile of dirt, scrape up a half a pickup load of gravel and moved it on the carryall, pulled two bushes out with the winch and dragged them to the trailer.

it has way more motive power. It would not spin tires previously. I assume the clutch has been slipping for a while given the heat coloration on the pressure plate fingers.
it's back to spin all 4 tires in the dirt is you grab too much material with the blade.

the temp switch is faulty, which is why it was unplugged evidently. Keeps tripping but the water outlet never gets above 160. NH wants 80 dollars for a temp switch. I'm going to figure out the threads and order one from summit. THoughts on the temp light temperature?
I was thinking like 200. Ample warning to shut it down before something bad happens.
It's basically the hottest day of the year here, so if it runs at 160 today, it's gona run 160 any other day.

I had no idea when the last time the hydraulic filters were changed, so I did those too.
I had two minor leaks at rubber couplers for the hard lines. I don't know why there's not a bead rolled into those lines. Rubber to smooth tube is dumb, and you have to tighten the clamps way passed what you should need to.

still haven't replaced the temp switch, but everything else is working.

I think I need to adjust the three point controls. I doubt that was done when the rear end was all taken apart.
I also need to fix the pto lever safety switch. I'm getting tired of pushing down PTOs to start it.

I split my 1715 manual trans at the back of the bell housing without removing the steering wheel.
