Has anyone upgraded from a max series to something bigger lately? If so what did you go to? I have been thinking of going to the 1626. The size of the max isn’t that bad for me but am just looking a bit more of a polished tractor. I have been told the controls on the 15/16 are smoother. The 3 point set up seems better without turnbuckles. The 2nd seat on the backhoe seems like it would be a lot better. I seem to have problems turning the 26 around. I know there is a sweet spot but finding it has never been easy. I am also thinking of switching to a shuttle shift from my hydro. At work we recently went to a 2665 cab shuttle from a JD Curtis cab 4 series shuttle. Seems like my body has a bit of a learning curve when switching between work and home. I am constantly looking for the shuttle lever at home. Might be easier to just have a shuttle at home to. I live in northern ny and have a 20 acre wooded lot we are planning on building on in the future. It was recently logged but now the clean up begins. I have thought about eventually going to a cab version but the funds aren’t currently there to make that leap. I will may upgrade again after the home is built and I know more about if I want to keep a backhoe after the building is done.

I ended up putting money down on a new left over 1533 TLB today. It is a little bigger than I wanted to go and a bit more money but I figured it would keep me from having to upgrade for a while. My brother in law has the same machine. At work I use a 2665 so I am getting used to a bigger size. I did ask the dealer to switch the seat to the new version. The arm rests seem like they would be handy to use with the loader control.

The 1533 arrived today. I had to wait a bit for the backhoe to come in. I also grabbed a upgraded set of forks and a box blade through the buy 3 and get $1000 back. With trading in my old forks the new forks cost me a very little. I think I will be happy with the bigger tractor. Oh I also upgraded the seat to the new style. I think I will be happy with the upgrade as it gives me somewhere to rest my elbow when using the loader.
