All right, long-time lurker, first-time poster. I've read a lot of archived threads along the lines of what I'm asking, but nothing recent.
I know, I know....we live in a global economy, and there will never again be a completely American-made tractor. I accept that and I'm okay with it. With that said, I still want to make an effort to support American manufacturing. My Chevy truck is comprised of parts made all over the world, but it was assembled in Fort Wayne, IN. I'd be happy to accept that kind of compromise in a utility tractor.
I am looking for something in the 35-55 HP range with a front end loader and hydrostatic transmission; it would primarily be used for property maintenance and light agricultural applications. There are features I like about New Holland, Deere, Kubota, Massey Ferguson, and Bobcat tractors in that category. Do any of these guys assemble their 35-55 HP tractors on this side of the pond?
My family farmed with Ford tractors for three generations before me, so I want to be a New Holland guy; but if their Workmaster and Boomer tractors are nothing more than Chinese-made tractors with an American name, I'd probably try to look elsewhere. On the other hand....maybe what I'm looking for truly no longer exists from any of the big-name tractors.
Any/all input is welcome. Where was your tractor actually assembled? Thanks!
