Looking at a LS

Btw Avenger, what attachment do you use for snow removal? I'm thinking of getting a snow pusher when I get the new tractor.

last winter I used the bucket on the FEL and my box blade. This year, I'd like to get a snow blower or a snow pusher. I've been looking for used, but they are hard to come by. Not sure if I can afford new at the moment.

I hear ya. Cheapest pusher I've seen so far was 1100 to 1200 from good works tractor for a 60" I think.

I bought a 6' pusher off Craigslist last summer for $500. It was in mint shape and works very well, as long as you understand the dynamics of a pusher. They are not the best choice for someone with a long winding driveway, a long very narrow driveway, or a steep hilly drive.

Really? You just described my driveway.

Can you elaborate?

A pusher is great for moving a lot of snow in a straight line. Once they start loading up with snow, they do not care that your turning the wheel left or right, they just run straight. Even our big articulating loaders at my shop, once the 12' pushers load up, they also like to go straight. Our driveway at the house is an L shape, open area, so a pusher works great for me. I back blade snow away from our three stall garage, then push that snow to the field at the side of the yard, then go to the road and push snow down the driveway to a pile, turn and push that pile into the field. It really cleans up well, and I can get it done in about 20 to 30 minutes if I wanted, but I like to putter and enjoy at least 2 beers while I move snow, besides, in the winter, it's usually my only seat time.

Standard truck snowplows work great on medium size tractors with enough weight to push them around. Bought a Meyer plow for $250 and welded a quick attach plate onto it. Uses a chain to float and follow the dips and rises in the driveway.

I just purchased a used plow online yesterday. I was looking for a WR Long FBH 84 and got lucky when I found this one. WR long also makes a set of wings to enclose the plow and turn it into a kinda snow pusher. I feel this was the best way for me get best of both worlds. I can plow my driveway and street but then I can put the wings on for piling snow.
