I've been on a medication for some time now and have been paying big bucks for it. Recently the patent expired and the generic form became available at about $300 which is about half of what I'd been paying so I thought I was doing well. However, I've been seeing adds for GoodRx and decided to check them out. Their website says I can get the same drug from my same pharmacy for $28. That sounds to good to be true so it can't be right, can it? I decided to check it out and printed out the on-line coupon and took it to the pharmacy and they said, yes, they accept it. So today I got my meds for $28 instead of $300. Check out GoodRx, it's simple, easy and cheap - the only place you can get all three.

until I found that my Sams Club Prime membership got me EVEN LOWER pricing than GoodRx,,

I use Sams for three prescriptions that I no not already get for free,,,

With Sams, no insurance is necessary, the price is the price,,
Sams does not even know I have health insurance,,

A couple months of prescription discounts fully pays for my Sams membership,,
It is like having a free membership to Sams,,, :thumbsup:

Many states such as Alabama forbid a pharmacy to charge for membership. So no membership necessary to use the Sam's Pharmacy, just tell the greeter you are going to the pharmacy. But I find prices the same as Walmart and see no point in going to the effort.

Sams has TWO prices, regular member (or non-member) ,, then there is Prime special pricing,,

So, yes, no membership is needed,, but, that no membership price is not the BEST price,,,

I can get the meds without insurance for $25 per month

I just had to sign up for the cost reduction on the medications website and give the pharmacy a couple sets of confirmation codes. It's good for 3 years. After that, I have to start all over with the process.

Some other name brand drugs have a similar coupon on there websites you can sign up for. I was on an acid reflux medication for awhile that was only available as a name brand. Doctor told me to go to there website and download the coupon. It dropped my price through insurance from $50 to free.

The program in the first example is actually backed by the government and is available for anyone on the medication.

Dttodd, $45,000 for one month's medication is an embarrassment to society. That's worse than the $10K/day I've heard of ICU charging patients. What has our society come to? Raping the sick and poor? Not to start a political argument, but the fact is, the drug companies are raping us. You definitely have my sympathy.

Well, when you can get it for $25 per month with out insurance. Makes you wonder what the profit margins are.

Same with epypens. It costs about $15 to manufacture one. Company jacked the price up ridiculously high just because they could. Daughter saw my hand after a yellow jacket sting and a triple dose of benadryl. She said I needed to get an epypen. I asked her if she had all that money for one? It's cheaper for me to just pop by a walk in clinic for a shot and pay the office visit.
