Cheap, easy tool box mount

I wanted a quick and easy tool box to keep me until I could afford a better one. I got 2 round magnet bases (from TS for $7 each)

I bolted them to the bottom of a plastic tool box.

It works so well I am not getting any other. Holds well on the hood and is small enough that it does not block line of sight.

Plus it is portable. If I m working on the back of the tractor I can slap the box onto any handy metal surface like the BB.

The only drawback is small compartments in the lid get wet in the rain, but the main compartment does not.

I am going to get me a 30 inch diamond plate UTV tool box and mount behind the divers seat on my Mahindra. Pretty sure there is room. I always need tools and stuff, going to rig me up a tool box too.

Very nice solution. I installed a tool box on the steel fender of my Ford 1700. At a very specific speed the fender & box rattled/shook like mad. I finally removed the box and reinstalled the grab handle.

Besides, the most important "tool" when I'm out and about on the property - a nice clean roll of toilet paper.

The few tools I might need will fit in the plastic tube Op Manual holder that is on each of my implements. There is one crescent wrench and a couple shear bolts in this one on my chipper.

Use Fender washers inside the tool box. The bolts will hold better.
I also put duct tape on the magnet bottoms to prevent possible scratching the paint.

I've been thinking of doing something similar with a pair or two of those long magnets HF used to give away with a purchase. Haven't seen anything free but flashlights lately.
