69°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 92° today. Looks like we're settling into some typical August weather here.

Cool morning in 60s after 98F yesterday. Went to town last night after dinner and got a haircut, picked up a palm nailer and saw blade for chop saw to cut aluminum. Too warm to sleep well, too smokey to open house and cool it down at night.

So much for the cooling trend that was forecast at the beginning of the week! It's still there in the 10-day, showing the high for today at a mere 91F. Like a man with two watches, I'll just have to find out what it gets to I guess.:confused2:

Perhaps a volunteer or two could be found to do some rock scouting for you, Don? That would keep you out of the middle of the decision tree, and let you focus on your real value add: operating the tractor...:laughing:

Had some time to kill between appointments in town yesterday, so wandered over to BevMo. Not the best prices around, but decent selection. You Texans will be pleased to hear I'm doing my part to keep the Shiner people in business; two cases found their way into the cart. And Guinness has a celebration twelve pack featuring four varieties of the black brew that should be good eats (beer being the perfect food after all). :laughing:

The Thai restaurant I like was closed, so I ended up at a Vietnamese joint. Tasty, but not wild about the fish sauce that accompanied it. Sweet, a bit of vinegar, then that unmistakable fishy flavor some find appealing. Not exactly good eats.

After that, the allergist sent me home with free samples of a new antihistamine to try, and a prescription for a new antacid. Oh boy, more pills!:yuck:

House was hot by the time I made it home; I'd forgotten to login when I left town and turn on the AC. That lead to a lot of tossing and turning trying to get to sleep, which I suppose wasn't helped any by the caffeine in the Thai iced tea I had with the late lunch. So a late start today tackling the last eve paint job; hope to get it wire brushed and primed. It's a low one and can be reached mostly sitting on the roof, but it's all in sun so it'll be nice'n'warm.:fiery:

Better get at it before it gets so hot the paint dries in the pail...

Hoping the craftsman mower battery on charger is up otherwise it will have to be replaced. Had to tow mower home from outside the gate drive when wife couldn’t get her started yesterday.

Had some time to kill between appointments in town yesterday, so wandered over to BevMo.

That reminds me of a rock-n-roll story ...
Played a show with the Sammy Hagar tribute band in Concord (Pacheco, technically) CA back in 2014. On our day off, the singer started checking around to see where he could buy some of Sammy's then-new Beach Bar Redhead Rum. It was still unavailable in the STL area at the time, and the other guys in the band wanted to load up and take a bunch home. The headquarters of BevMo was literally right behind our hotel, so the singer called them, and found out that the only place around that had any in stock at that time was a store in Modesto. So, we piled into the rental and drove to Modesto to buy rum. They bought a case of the stuff, amongst other things, and we drove back to Concord. Since we obviously weren't going to try to take it on the plane with us, we packed it into the shipping crate we made to ship our instruments there and back, and freighted it back to STL with our equipment.

So, that's what we did on our one day off in SanFran. We drove to Modesto to buy some rum.

We have the little ones and the ones with a cart. Trips to Dr use one of the little one and 1/2 of cart one. She needs continuous flow. Which eats the tanks up fast.

Margaret's home unit is continuous flow with the amount adjutabble, but the little bottles are never used on continuous flow. They're certainly capable of it, but as you said, that would eat up the tanks fast. We keep 7 bottles on hand, and they'll deliver, but since we like to go riding around at times anyway, we usually just go by and swap the empties for full ones when it's convenient. In fact, this morning, I swapped 5 empties for full ones. It's about 19 miles but it's north of here instead of in toward Dallas.

So, that's what we did on our one day off in SanFran. We drove to Modesto to buy some rum.

Beats heck out of busting through Bay Area traffic to get to someplace scenic like the Marin headlands, Santa Cruz, and other points north and west.

And you guys had something to show for your efforts!

Reminds me of all the Coors beer brought home from Colorado when I was still living in Ohio. We didn't know it was supposed to be kept refrigerated, and we also didn't know what it was supposed to taste like. Just the fact that we couldn't get it was enough to make it think it was good.:laughing:

Tim Smith, reality TV series "Moonshiners" star and now legal distiller, just came out with a series of aged whiskys that don't seem to be available out here yet. A link on the Ciimax Facebook page went to a place to order them, so all three are on their way here now. Pretty sure all three use the electrical rapid aging process he came up with for that big batch of moonshine a couple years ago, which turned out pretty well. :drink:

Dr said Betty should get a portable one. Took test to prove it today. Will see how that works. Margaret should be able to get one also. The portable one will plug into 12 volt of car. Drive all day and never have worry about running out of oxygen. Plus will run on battery for 3 hours or more.
