To be honest, I don't have much use for a boat, I got that out of my system LONG time ago!

I do have a small fishing boat, other than in my pond, it hasn't been in any water in over 25 years!

What kinda truck all you guys ride in?

The 'Rusty But Trusty' ol' Excursion... rolled over 312k miles on the way home, the 7.3 diesel hums right along at a shade over 15 mpg on the tank of fuel that got us down there and did all the stop-and-go trips while there. We refer to it as a truck, as in 'her truck', my wife's. My truck(s) get referred to as 'the junk by the barn'... but a feller has to have dreams, and projects!

The parking at our cabin was almost level... by WV standards!

My junker that I don’t even need anymore drives now. Maybe in another year I’ll consider putting the hood and a bed on it.IMG_7125.JPG

I have over 360k on my 2002 F350 4x4 with the 7.3 and it just keeps going.

Yeah, they are rock solid... every one I have is over 300k, the Excursion is our 'low mile baby'! One at 340k F250 with 6spd, and another 400k motor in front of a 220k 6spd drivetrain F250... love towing with the 6 spd trucks.

You hide the rust well. Up here motors always outlast the body without rust proofing, my 98 F150 was gone in 15 years.

Yeah, it doesn't look too bad just passing by... but the rockers are starting to get holes, the paint on the roof is peeling leaving rust spots, but the worst is the frame and trailer hitch. Found a hole the size of a half dollar in the 3" box tube the hitch is made of, a couple weeks ago.

My plan is find a rust free gas motor cheap southern Excursion for the body and swap over everything. But after my extended crew cab project truck is done...

Today's (and yesterday's) seat time was cleaning out a garage at a rental property we sold last week. Had 2 old project trucks ('86 Chevy k20 and '88 S10) and various parts, and misc building materials to haul out. Tractor made loading motors, axles, and IBC totes of stuff easy.

I have a friend who is getting married soon, he asked me to saw out some wood "place settings", but wasn't sure what he even wanted.

SO, we took the tractor out and recovered the whole "top" of an Aspen I had cut down over a year ago for the bottom log, to mill into 1x4's.

Anyway, I cut a section of the top log off and situated it on the mill to make "elongated" pieces, and even though my friend couldn't picture in his mind what I was doing, once he saw them coming off the mill, he REALLY liked them and so did I!

Once we had them all milled out, he took them to his brothers house, who is going to sand and finish them for him.

Once done they will be pretty nice, for sure!

What mill are you using? Looks a lot like my LM2000.

Dad (MF383) and I (Kubota Grand L3560) went out to the farm and dug a fire pit about 20ft long and 3ft deep. I forgot to take a picture of once we were done, the pile we finished with is about 3 times bigger than the one in the picture.

Got the wife out on the tractor today. This is her first time using the loader.

Years ago my father cut down a big old Norway Maple which was on their front lawn. My mother's getting tired of mowing around it but the estimate to get it ground was $300. I decided to do it myself, bore cutting into the top of the stump, carving it into smaller pieces and eventually breaking it up with wedges, sledge hammer and a chain from the bucket of the L2800.

About halfway through the project I was wishing that I had the old solid bar Homelite XL-12 with manual oiler which I gave away years ago, I believe that it would have been more suited for the job.
I ruined a good chain and probably the bar on my saw, but at the end of the day was able to plant grass seed where the stump had been.

That old XL-12 .....what a saw!
My dad bought one new......maybe 1958?
He died 25 years later, and the XL-12 was still going strong.
I had it (used it a lot) for another 10 years (1993?), until it would not start.
Took it in to be repaired, but would have been too expensive.

I was going to take it to the dump, but decided to put it on E-Bay, as not in working condition.
Sold it for $75!
It was a GREAT old saw!

I had two... the first was one which my father bought in the '60s to replace his McCulloch. The second was the one that our elderly neighbor used to cut his firewood. Like a dumb a22 I gave them away when I upgraded to a 254 Husky, because I preferred a saw with a chain brake.

Moving brush from my logging roads with the grapple and a stick jammed up between the front wheel and the hood.
I was able to remove the stick, but when I restarted the engine, it revved up to 1500 rpms and would not go down to idle.
Since I was in thick woods, I decided to drive it out.
I made it to the edge of the woods when it quit.
I got a better look at the engine and saw that the stick had broken the inlet tube on the lift pump
Needless to say, I left the tractor where it was and walked home.
I will be replacing the pump when I determine which of the 3 choices available[based on tractor s/n] will work.
In the meantime, I used the West system epoxy on the broken tube to see if that will hold long enough to get the M home.
Sheesh, I am seriously considering some kind of side cover for the areas of the engine that are exposed to prevent this in the future.
I also want to fab up skid plates for the underside since I had a close call with another stick in that area the other day.

Brush has probably put more woods tractors out of commission than anything else. I try to keep on my brushed out trails, but it doesn't always work out that way.
