We've owned a GSD, an English yellow lab and a terrier breed that everyone considered a "pitbull". Out of 25 years with 3 dogs, never had one bite with ANY stranger on our property. People were most afraid of the the terrier breed, but the reality is she was more afraid of those people than she was of her.
Sig, as a friend, I suggest you ease off a bit. Most dogs, like most people, are pretty good. There are a few bad ones out there and unfortunately they have to be dealt with. Hopefully somebody with skills steps up and trains the dog but a parent and spouse have a right to protect their family. For the girl in this situation , I hope there is no further trauma. She needs to feel safe. The dad almost lost his little girl. Shooting strays is harsh but in their situation I will not criticize them.
You make an exception to a rule based on hard statistics...basing an argument on an exception is like (sorry for the sick pun) "a dog that won't hunt"
Are ALL AR-15's the reason for mass shootings?
The irony is I'm debating a friend living in Philly and all of his co horts that a semi auto rifle is NOT evil and responsible for innocent lives.
Hear ye, hear ye.But, this thread is about the little girl who got attacked in her home. My opinion is the little girl would have been better off if someone killed the dog immediately. Yes, that is harsh. That dog, that one dog, in my opinion should have been shot as soon as there was an adult who was not needed to aid the girl. The focus still needs to be on the girl. She needs support, not arguments about guns, dogs, or purple people eaters.
Sig, your intentions are good, your logic sound but this isn稚 the thread for that. This is a thread to support the little girl.
I agree.
Hey Sig, you and I are on the same side on guns. I will disagree with the implication that they want to take away just AR style rifles. The progs, gun grabbers, whatever they are called want to take them all. And given that the greatest mass murderers of all time are governments on unarmed populations, prohibiting gun ownership is very scary. It is maddening that the progs use tragedy to push their agenda while we know it doesn稚 address the real problem.
