I seem to recall you're a recent California immigrant Scrambler, right?

I hope your hillsides are green when you're cutting them.

If they're brown and dry as a bone like the rest of the state, you might want to give some thought of not cutting again until we get some rain. I'd hate to see you listed as the cause of the next major California wildfire, and I don't think I could get the fire engine down there very quick at 57 MPH top speed.

Thanks, it is dry and the brown condition of the weeds only stress your statement BUT the Fire Department only want to see it cut nothing else.
I will hold off the cutting, as you suggested, I think there is more sense in it than than SoCal Fire Department.

Thomas, that is one big bear.

guests left, everyone stuffed, my ribs turned out really well, surprised myself, ice cream cake hit the spot, sent most of the food and the cake home with guests.
legs are killing me, time to put feet up and keep them there.

Thomas,
I sure hope that your "friendly" bear isn't getting to comfortable around you and other people. From your postings I get the idea that you really enjoy the wildlife interacting with you. While that can be entertaining and educational I hope that Boo Boo doesn't get to unconcerned and we end up hearing from your next of kin that he decided to be the big dog and removed you.
I've seen people that "befriended" deer and had sweet little bambi eating out of their hands and the next thing you know that doe or buck is tearing them up with those nasty front hooves.
Good luck stay safe please.

Nice friend

Depending on situation:
If along a concrete walkway, maybe place outside to give max width.

All 4ft width if walking surface allows.
It goes in garage to get up 2 steps. 4ft turn, 3 ft wide ramp about 16 ft.

The sides will make it harder for me to push myself.

Called my dad, he was bush hogging and got yelliw jackets. Stung both ears, in hand thru gloves. He said one glove was covered in bees. He used other hand to kill a bunch.
He's 95, doing this far from house all alone. He won't tell anyone hes going out. Sigh...

A friend stopped by and is mowing now.

Ive been outside for an hr. 89° but nice breeze in shade.

Wife on way back home, going thru nashville now.0817191901a.jpeg

Checking In:

A foggy 63ºF for today’s low; a cloudy humid overcast 74ºF presently; and I anticipate a humid 78ºF for today’s high temp with a chance of rain showers and T-storm activity. Brogen A.K.A Droolius Barkus scored big time today at the transfer station/dump (3 biscuits) prior to the trip to the doggie gulag. We got to the gulag and there was a family group with a pack of 4 Australian sheperd mixes who it appeared were not dog friendly as a pack. Droolius was still in the truck as I helped the kennel owner manage the pack while 2 geriatric beagles were exiting with their owner. It appeared that the pack controlled the humans, but finally the pack was taken to their kennels. I told the family that I would be coming in with my St. B. now that the area was cleared of potential combatants and no one else was bringing in their dogs for boarding. The instant that Brogen and I returned entering the kennel the office the family freaked out :eek::eek: about Brogen which got Brogen and the kennel owner’s two (dog unfriendly) Bull Mastiffs going. Quite the scene, but all’s well that ends well.

I really do not know why I even bothered to get the truck detailed. :( Plan for today get the truck cleaned up (again), clean the kayaks, and pack the truck for our Adirondack vacation tomorrow.

“The best BBQ is cooked low and slow. No more than 250F, 225F is better.”- RNG I agree. I really like your fire engine.

Bruce- The Rabbit Hole was a really good restaurant. Wifey and I shared a chef’s choice fermented vegetable sampling which was really good eats. Peg got a huge hamburger loaded with fermented vegetable toppings. She even let me sample some :D. That hamburger was amazing.:D I stayed away from all things sausage, but I did order a 24 oz, air cured, cold smoked, and jerked rib eye steak which was amazing. It came as ordered medium rare. Plan for today finish that steak, and yes Brogen did get some (scraps). It appears that the co-owner (wife) took a liking to us as evidenced by the size of the bone dry martini #2. We have always liked this restaurant, but due to its location it usually fails after a year or 2. We will do our best to keep this operation going. Plan: Return in 2 weeks with some friends who live nearby.

“Yes, the case manager was off…”- BEF It seems that this is SOP. We were really in a financial bind when I first got sick and had to go through all the ST DI, SSDI, etc. BS with similar experiences as yours :( As soon as I could I applied for my State pension and after my case was opened my case manager retired. It took months and a lot of - expressed emotion to get my pension. I hope that your experience will be different. Good luck with the discharge planning.

Phil- I am happy to read of your + response to the sinus surgery.

Kyle- I have been unable to zoom in with this site, but I would like to find an alternative site that could provide both the data graphics and be zoom capable. I am still looking.

RonJH- I am happy that you and Betty are getting family support. My continued + thoughts, wishes, and prayers for Betty, you, and family.

“Caloric overdose…”- Drew I did not take my blood sugars this AM ;):embarrassed:

My + thoghts, wishes, and prayers.

Glad nobody or dogs got hurt. I keep imagining Turner and Hooch in his car with gallons of drool. :) Are you going to be off grid? Hope your vacation is nice.

Those cookie brownies need some Bluebell Homemade Vanilla ice cream on them.

Thomas, you think you and Boo Boo might ever be friends enough to go fishing together? :)

I just sprayed about 25 gallons of herbicide. Got plenty on me. Wore a respirator. Took a quick shower. Sprayer needs new hoses.

Practice run for the great escape?

Seriously, Hope your dad is OK. Wow, 95 and still shredding. You've reminded me. I have an underground nest of bees I need to go spray.

Good evening all. 80F for the start, clear, calm wind. South wind became moderate quickly, somewhat gusty, sky got a few clouds, and high temp was 99F HI 109. Bike ride this morning, and that was it. Spent the rest of the day rehydrating and 2 hour nap.
Buckeye, good to hear more progress. Also good to hear wife is having safe trip.
Ron good to hear you have family support in Betty's care.
Drew glad your dinner party turned out, after all your work.
Thomas good luck with Boo Boo
prayers for all.

The missus is right, but you knew that already. You an' Boo Boo are both used to getting your own way, both being the cock of the walk. But you're the one with the chainsaw, seems it would have been an opportune time to introduce BB to how much noise it makes, with no downside if he decided to see how sharp you keep your chain...

If I understand you right, the fire department is putting pressure on you to cut your field, even though it's a tinderbox? Perhaps you could share your concern with them that you could start a fire that would take out the whole neighborhood, and suggest that maybe they'd like to station a pumper or two nearby when you attempt to comply with their directive. That way you can both be seen as doing your best to keep everyone happy, and having done your due diligence, minimize the outcome if things take a turn for the worst. :confused2:

Just in the grass, looking up at me

Nothing like a dumb lump of steel to make you feel stupid, huh?

Same thing happened to me with a good working blade after I'd walked, metal detected, and magnetic swept the exact location where I found it, laying in the middle of the dirt path where it was almost impossible to miss. The ONLY explanation is that it had slipped into another dimension, then miraculously slipped back just as I came along with the sun at just the right angle in the side-by-side.

I guess that makes us both lucky?:confused3::confused2::banghead::pullinghair:

BTW, I learned this morning that Peter Fonda took the big ride over the rainbow. Easy Rider and Captain America is a big part in how I ended up hooked on motorcycles. Dunno if that's good or bad, but the world is diminished by his passing.:grumpy:
