What? you trying to put the movie fake sounds guys out of work? The Foley union is going to be all over you!... :)

Of course these are the same guys that can get 12 or more gunshot sounds out of a 6 shot revolver. :D

Funny you should mention that. I watched the ending of "The Sons of Katie Elder" with John Wayne; Wayne walks into a store carrying one six gun, no gun belt, so no extra ammo, and fires something like 14 times without reloading.

- People fire handguns indoors, can hear each other right afterward, and speak in a normal tone of voice.

(Marion Morrison would have been deaf by the third movie.)

Yeah, those "old timers" really knew how to stretch out the ammo load in a "sixgun".:) When in fact most guys in the know back then carried 5 rounds in their "sixgun" because they let the hammer down on an empty chamber as a colt 1873 model P was somewhat dangerous to carry with the hammer down on a loaded chamber. If dropped on the hammer they would discharge nearly every time. There was no transfer bar safety like Bill Ruger built into all of his "clones" after 1973 so that six could be safely carried.

Of course anyone that has ever owned and fired a single action revolver knows how long it takes to punch out 5 (or even 6) empty's one at a time while revolving the cylinder by hand and then load fresh cartridges back into the cylinder. And lets not even get started with "cap and ball" revolvers from the civil war era and used well into the time period of cartridge revolvers. With the loading of cap and ball revolvers you can actually grow a pretty good beard in the time it takes to load up one of those. This is why you don't see much movie or TV footage of the loading operation. The movie would be half over before you got her loaded up and ready to go again.Much easier for the Foley guys to just dub in some multi-shot magic.

Only in the movie "The Outlaw Josey Wales" did they make an attempt to actually show the practice of carrying extra loaded cylinders by a gunfighter as this was the "speedloader" method of the day. Some models lent themselves to this practice more readily than others. This is one of the things that makes this such an enjoyable movie, the realism shown in its production.

Good point. Anyone that has fired ANY firearm, even a .22 indoors knows how that works. (HUH, what did you say!)

Only when indoors? I gave away the old H&R 929 revolver which had been my grandfather’s because I couldn’t shoot it. 2 shots would leave me with intense pain. Yet why do you not notice the sound of 8 rounds when hunting, at least until after the fact?

And firing the gun from the hip and pushing forward dduring the firing action, with deadly accuracy....

I had to read that about twenty times before I think I understand what you are saying. So, "sea salt" has something more/extra, not less?

With the Billions of tons of garbage and toxins in our Oceans, maybe going for the million year old salt deposits would in fact be healthier.

Exactly, not to mention all the detritus accumulated while the salt puddles are evaporating and the salt is accumulated via personnel with who knows what kind of health problems.
Thank you very much, but I will stick with the cheap millions years old underground most pure varieties.

Recent movies have become almost unwatchable for me, with all the crazy, loud unnecessary NOISE! And if you turn it down, you can`t understand the dialogue. Guy gets punched in the face (with little effect) but it sounds like an explosion of some sort! AMAZING what you can convince the masses is desireable. Anything that can stir the senses in brain dead people I guess.

If it was fully loaded, they could fire 12 half-shots.
