Methinks there is a much bigger chance of contaminating meat for the grill with germs, bacteria etc. originating in the kitchen than the grill outside...

That was true in the old days due to the metal casings... Now they are plastic and doesn't affect them.

Like I said earlier in the thread, I just had two batteries go bad within a month of each after two weeks sitting on concrete. Put the one back in the car and it has held charge since. Have the one sitting inside mom's camper and it has also held. So why did both batteries magically go dead sitting on concrete but held before and have held since?

They do tend to short internally and they have been known to be bad from factory. Age plays a factor on the oxidation process of the internal lead plates, the oxide falls to the bottom and builds up shorting out individual cells... or just a short between 2 plates will cause a discharge. When a battery is moved it can dislodge those little flakes and they fall to the bottom and if the cell isn't shorted it will take and hold a charge. Pretty simple really. You can renew an old dead battery that wont take a charge by flushing and cleaning the inside and refilling with new electrolyte, it jst depends on how old and damaged the plates are inside. there are youtube links on this process.

Ben Jones, aka cooter was actually a congressman, not a senator. I've met him a few times at his stores. Here i am with Daisy. i'm wearing my TractorByNet hat. Have a signed autograph from Boss Hogg, from a DC car show in the 80s. He spoke several languages.

Yes, Sorrell Booke dressed up as Boss Hogg. Very friendly. Since I saw him in DC, not a large Dukes crowd there at the time. They had a general Lee there.
