Cast rear centers such as JHurt's M7060 & my M7040 don't have the option of as many wheel tread settings as the steel center dish type rear wheels. My M7040 operators manual only lists 4 not 8 rear wheel tread settings for pressed disk being 1420MM,1520MM,1620MM or 1720MM. Cast center wheel tread settings aren't mentioned in M7040 OM that I can see.

You are correct! And my front wheels have no adjustablilty other than side to side.

I’m a little disappointed. I haven’t been able to use the tractor since Saturday. Rain on Sunday and Monday, and Tuesday I had a heck of an adventure! My son works in Overland Park (solid two hours from my home) and calls me Tuesday afternoon about an overheating issue on his Jeep. Turns out the radiator tank is busted, and most likely destroyed the engine. It a high mileage 2001 on its last leg anyway. So after the three girls ballgames on Tues I head to get his Jeep with the 28ft gooseneck. We don’t get there until almost 10:30 and as soon as we get out of the truck I tell Jordan “wow I can smell all that antifreeze”. Turns out it wasn’t from his Jeep though, it’s running out of my truck! And I mean running! I pop the hood and see it’s the water pump. Leaking bad but still intact. We load the Jeep and find the nearest gas station in the projects and grab three gallons of coolant and three gallons of water. Drove two hours home stopping every little bit and adding a couple gallons at a time. Made it home with the pump screeching as we pulled in to the driveway. Changed the pump last night after I mowed, and I would say it wouldn’t have made it another 10 minutes. We got lucky for once!

Luckily it’s an easy change in the shop. It could have been done on the side of the road, but I’m glad we didn’t have too!

Yes, go ahead and liquid fill. I prefer that to wheel weights anyway ...
My buddy just bought a New M7060 OS 12spd ystrda with R4 tires for Poultry House work.
The front tires are 12.5/80-18 & MUCH Narrower than previous year models we’ve seen.
Can Anybody shed some light on this ?

The rears are 16.9-24
I would have thought rears shoulda been 17.5-24 ?

It’s DEFINITELY gotta have all 4 tires fluid filled & widened out to make it heavy enough.
I’m 6’-1” & my knee didn’t hit the Reverse Shuttle Shifter as mentioned.

I would have thought with shorter R4 tires that Low Range 1st gear would have been Much Slower

My JD is .5 mph slower than his :D

The higher flow Hyd pump & E-PTO with 12spd option is the only way to go.

One of the first things I noticed with my Kubota. The lowest gear in the Kubota is about equal to 3rd gear in my old John Deere 2020. One of these days I may have to splurge and have the creeper gears installed in the Kubota.

Creeper gear is what I suggested to my buddy.

Isn’t it only available on the 12spd ?

A Poultry house tractor has to run extremely slow when running a litter caking machine with conveyor.

My neighbor has a T4-75 New Holland that’s WAY slower than my 3 JD 12spds.

Correct. Creeper gears are only for the 12 speed, and add 6 more ratios all lower that the normal 1st gear low range. The New Holland T4.75 has the same available creeper gear option.

The Massey I traded was a ton slower in low gear. There have been a couple of times already that I wished I would have bought the creeper kit. I'm sure as I get used to the new tractor it will be fine. If not, I guess I'll have to invest in the creeper kit. Anyone shed any light on the cost of the creeper kit for the 7060?

My buddy had his exhaust stack shortened 12” to be slightly shorter than the ROPS folded down, to get in Poultry Houses.

He’s really liking the Orange Unit :D

I have found with my 7060 and cutting, I'm using about 1-1.25 gal/hr. This is with a 6' cutter on the 3-point. The ROPS model has an 18 gallon tank. For you to use 13.5 gal in 5 hours, that's seems really excessive. Maybe the tank wasn't full when you started?

Also, you are correct in that ePTO reduces RPMs about 400 RPM when working at a 540 PTO speed. I like ePTO a lot.

You can also make a case for the amount of work accomplished for that time. A 6 ft BH is a bit small for that sized tractor. I pull a 12 ft Batwing and although it may result in just a bit more fuel burned due to weight, it gets twice the work accomplished in the same time running.

I can't remember for sure but the cost of the creeper kit is around $600.00. It's a whole goods item so you'll have to order it thru your Kubota dealer's sales department.

It is very easy to install by yourself.

Here is some more information I posted about it with a copy of the installation pdf. Please see post #6 at the following link...
