How to stop cars from turning around in my driveway

I’ve been working on a project recently to replace our old delapitaded driveway gates with busted mighty mule gate opener.

If you want to build a set of high quality driveway gates on the cheap I recommend you go to the local farm store and pick up about ten 1”x6”x16ft rough cut white oak fence boards, then go to the website below, download their free plans, and buy a high quality hardware kit from them. You can easily build them yourself for about $500 in materials. That’s cheap compared to what a gate company would charge.

The mighty mule gate opener doesn’t have a good reputation and ours is currently busted with a blown motherboard. They’re loud and slow and need constant fiddling. Recommend a higher quality unit if you can afford it.

A year or so back there was a farmer with the same situation. "Something or other" attracted folks to the property adjoining his. His field would become packed with with parked cars. People going to the activity. He even posted pictures here. Soooo..... he fired up his tractor and disked his field between the parked cars and his driveway. Needless to say, it was a very deep disk job. Cars tried, but got stuck. LEO became involved but to no benefit of those with the parked cars.

I don't remember how the cars got out but the word was - "nobody ever parked in his fields again".

I had an old truck abandoned on my business' parking lot. Called the last registered owner for weeks, the police, the towing company... nobody would touch it. Just sat there rusting in my front parking space.

Finally one night, a mysterious person tried to break the ignition to allow it to roll into the side street where it would have to be towed by the city. Unfortunately, the mysterious person didn't have the car thieving skills to release the gearshift, so the mysterious person used a jack and moving dollies to get the stupid truck into the side street. Funny thing happened... it was towed the next morning. The police had a few questions for me... but it was some mysterious person I guess.

I don't blame BR for dragging the thing off his lawn, but I'm glad there weren't any negative side effects for him.

Mysterious persons must watch out for cameras. On older vehicles it was easy to crawl underneith and disconnect the shifter and operate the lever. Not sure on newer vehicles. Probably not a good thing to do on a hill unless you want your legs run over, lol

I bet that tractor driver was charged with assault.

And get charged with involuntary manslaughter... A buddy of mine on a bike hit a cable and was touch and go for almost a month. The insurance attorneys were already prepping to go after the property owner who did not have reflective signs and ribbon on the cable. It took him about 8 months to walk again after multiple surgeries.

But did they go after the property owner, and what was the outcome? Ive seen many cables or chains across driveways.
