Nope. Why should I spend a bunch of money keeping criminals off my property? Your attitude is part of the problem. I asked the wife about how long ago this was and she guessed 15 or 20 years ago and since then, we have never had anyone act this stupid. Let me come pull up in your front yard and see what you think about it. I shouldn't have to turn my yard into Fort Knox to prove that you can't park there. A little common sense and respect for an individuals property is all that should be needed, but this individual had neither (parked in my yard and had a warrant out for him). Sadly, society is adopting the Fuddy attitude that it isn't their responsibility to behave unless you give me all types of warning and do it in triplicate otherwise it is your fault for not making me behave and act like a respectful human being.

I guess, based on Fuddy's attitude, if the guy didn't want his vehicle moved, he should of put signs all around stating don't move this vehicle, no signs, so I'm legal to move it.

No problem! Just keep doing what you're doing. Whenever someone parks on your property just drag it out in the street. You got lucky the guy was a criminal. Next time you won't be. Although someone stupidly parks on your property going to a concert someone is going to get injured or they'll claim damages to their vehicle.
The fuddy attitude? I'm thinking about your welfare. I'd be mad too, but your "solution" is not correct either. Ever hear two wrongs don't make a right?
Over the years I've had vehicles on my property. One a teenager with flat tire. Spare didn't fit, her car had no jack. I drove her home, got her Dad and chewed him out a bit, asking why would Dad let her drive something like that!
Call your local towing companies. I guarantee you'll find at least one who will tow at owner's expense.
People do stupid things, you have to have the wisdom to know how to handle situations properly.
Handle stupidity with equal or in your case more stupidity will land you in jail or sued.

To stop cars turning, cultivate a large puddle. You know it is shallow and solid bottom. They don't.

For concert parking, put up a sign advertising concert parking for $20 (or more). You can make money, or scare them off, depending on price.

Not really. Both are considered private property by law in Indiana.

In Indiana, for example, on private property, the car has to be tagged for 24 hours before it's towed. Or you can wait 21 days if you don't tag it. However, there is an exception that states if the car is interfering with normal business, or it is an emergency, it can be towed immediately. So if someone parks in your driveway, that is interfering with normal business. You can have them towed immediately. If they park in your yard, that isn't interfering with normal business. However, if its lawn mowing day, then it is interfering with normal business, and you can have them towed.

Parking lots are a bit trickier. If you have a huge lot, and don't run out of space, it's not interfering. If you run out of spaces for your visitors, or trucks cant turn around, things like that are considered interfering with normal business, and off you go.

quite frankly, if someone parks (abandons) a car in my lawn, and I want to have it towed, I will!

The simplest solution would be put up private property, no trespassing signs right at the road..... Legally its POSTED and you can prosecute / have towed anyone/anything on your property. I had to do it here, took nearly a year but it has greatly died down since day 1.

Sec. 16. (a) If after twenty-four (24) hours the person who owns a vehicle believed to be abandoned on private property has not removed the vehicle from the private property, the person who owns or controls the private property on which the vehicle is believed to be abandoned may have the vehicle towed from the private property.

(b) Notwithstanding subsection (a), in an emergency situation a vehicle believed to be abandoned on private property may be removed immediately. As used in this subsection, "emergency situation" means that the presence of the vehicle believed to be abandoned interferes physically with the conduct of normal business operations of the person who owns or controls the private property or poses a threat to the safety or security of persons or property, or both.

But did they go after the property owner, and what was the outcome? Ive seen many cables or chains across driveways.

They did. I honestly don't know what the settlement was, but there homeowner was liable because of no signage or reflective material. Just a rusty steel cable between trees, and a realtor sign saying how many acres are for sale.

If you can't the car towed from your yard. Can just fence it and post it as no trespassing.

I suppose if I am not allowed to move it, then I will just dig a 3 foot trench around it and see how the owner likes getting it out then.....
