How to stop cars from turning around in my driveway

At least all they are doing is turning around. I had a guy park in my yard once. He wasn't visiting me, he was heading over to the park close to our house that a concert was going on at and couldn't find a parking spot, so he pulled into our yard. I called the police and they came, but wouldn't do anything since the vehicle was on private property, it was my problem. I thanked the officers for coming over and they left.

I went to my garage, got out the SUV, hooked up a tow strap and pulled the vehicle out into the middle of the road. Unhooked the tow strap and parked my SUV back in the garage. I then went and sit on my front porch, watching as traffic trying to figure out what to do. Police showed up, looked over at me, I yelled, I think it is your problem now since it is on public property. I turned around and went inside. They had a tow truck come and get it.

About two hours later I heard commotion in my front yard when the owner showed up looking for his truck. He called the police to report his truck stolen, they showed up and arrested him because he had an outstanding warrant.

The most fun I have had by not going to a concert.

Well I wasn't. What do you think, that I put the vehicle in the middle of interstate with people doing 70 MPH? Are you really that stupid? I pulled it into the road where you made a right turn, so when cars came up, there was a vehicle sitting there and not turning. The speed limit is 25 MPH.

This is the problem with society today, it is perfectly fine by your standards for someone to pull onto someone elses property, damage the property with ruts and the law will do nothing. Yes, you can take them to civil court and yes, I could of called a tow truck, it would of cost me $150 and then I would of had to taken the guy to court to get the money. Why isn't the law setup to protect the property owner? It has become a shame when those breaking the law has more rights than the home owner.

Most places, for them to be charged with trespassing and get towed from private property, you need specific signage saying:
1. No Trespassing
2. Unauthorized cars will be towed
3. The name of the tow company
Then you can have their car towed and have them charged with trespassing because the sign was their warning, otherwise, you have to document that they were warned/instructed not to enter the property before they can be charged with trespassing.

That stuff gets spread around here and close to my house. It's either that, or regular cow manure or chicken sheit. It's like, surprise me. A few months back out of respect, the farmer avoided the portion of field close to the house with liquid manure. I said, no that's OK. A few weeks ago, they spread more regular manure, and did come close to the house. Man, I paid for that in stink for weeks!

I致e been working on a project recently to replace our old delapitaded driveway gates with busted mighty mule gate opener.

If you want to build a set of high quality driveway gates on the cheap I recommend you go to the local farm store and pick up about ten 1肺6肺16ft rough cut white oak fence boards, then go to the website below, download their free plans, and buy a high quality hardware kit from them. You can easily build them yourself for about $500 in materials. That痴 cheap compared to what a gate company would charge.

The mighty mule gate opener doesn稚 have a good reputation and ours is currently busted with a blown motherboard. Theyæ±*e loud and slow and need constant fiddling. Recommend a higher quality unit if you can afford it.

I did just this about eight years ago and I've been very pleased. The wood I used is 5/4x6 pressure treated deck boards. I put a 3/8 bolt through each joint. Real simple. With the sliding compound miter saw it took about 20 minutes to do all the cutting and maybe an hour to put it together.

Their deal is they sell the gate hardware, which ends up costing three times what the lumber does.

True, but MOST jurisdictions require what I listed, otherwise your car could just disappear from the parking lot that is 'no parking' (but unmarked) and you would have to track down where it went to.
