Ice Melt

If anyone is interested, I recommend a piece of fiction by Michael Crichton "State of Fear" It has lots of foot notes for fact checking & he gives his opinion at the end of the book.

One of the brightest minds in recent history (Richard Feynman) says that "science is the belief in the ignorance of experts"...

As far as ice melting...As I said...in some locations newly discovered marine heat sources are responsible for some ice melting...in other places ice is expanding and some glaciers are growing...Other newly discovered and newly formed deep ocean heat sources are contributing to rising ocean temps...You can't have it both ways and be correct...

Don't know what those "heat sources" could be other than the Earth's magma. :confused3: It's been melting Iceland's ice ever since Iceland was created from a volcano. Of course the Earth's inner heat is going to melt some ice but the amount is trivial compared to the Sun/Climate Change ice melting. :sun:

This is 100% conjecture...

You've got it backwards...the Earth's internal heat (including both known and unknown marine thermal vents) is causing the climate change...The oceans control the weather/climate...not the other way around...

Personally my humble opinion is that rekees needs rekeyed!

Pine you are partially correct. According to this article, Earth's internal heat is one of several factors causing Greenland's ice melt. I learned something new today, thank you.

There's a summary of what it says: "According to Rysgaard, mass loss of the Greenland's ice sheet is determined by a combination of factors: higher temperatures in the air and the sea, precipitation from above, local dynamics of the ice sheet and heat loss from the Earth's interior."

Heat from the Earth’s interior causing Greenland’s ice sheet to melt: study

I wish someone would "do the math" on all the GOOD THINGS that a warmer earth will bring.

Like higher CO2 levels will promote agriculture (feed the world), Grow the Rain Forests in shorter time.
There will be more water in the atmosphere, so more rain to grow the crops. There will be more snow too. Replenishing the Greenland ice sheet.
Maybe even Antarctica will get some fresh snow. It's a pretty dry place.

Heck, the way it is now, man kind has never been better off. Less starvation. less poverty, less disease. More people are prospering or at least doing well than in any previous era of human existence.

All due to petrochemicals, electricity and human ingenuity.

Don't sell all of us short with the doomsday predictions. Things are looking (and ARE) pretty good, yes, pretty good indeed.
