At least all they are doing is turning around. I had a guy park in my yard once. He wasn't visiting me, he was heading over to the park close to our house that a concert was going on at and couldn't find a parking spot, so he pulled into our yard. I called the police and they came, but wouldn't do anything since the vehicle was on private property, it was my problem. I thanked the officers for coming over and they left.

I went to my garage, got out the SUV, hooked up a tow strap and pulled the vehicle out into the middle of the road. Unhooked the tow strap and parked my SUV back in the garage. I then went and sit on my front porch, watching as traffic trying to figure out what to do. Police showed up, looked over at me, I yelled, I think it is your problem now since it is on public property. I turned around and went inside. They had a tow truck come and get it.

About two hours later I heard commotion in my front yard when the owner showed up looking for his truck. He called the police to report his truck stolen, they showed up and arrested him because he had an outstanding warrant.

The most fun I have had by not going to a concert.

Many years ago, my brother was renting a place near Pocono International Raceway when the raceway decided to cash in on the concerts that were happening at the time. People were blocking everything to the point where he could not leave if he wanted to. He pulled the valve stems on every vehicle, every tire....

Build a medium sized "dog House" of classic appearance that you wouldn't mind being out front. Heck, size it to fit you garbage cans if you want.

Paint a suitable guard dog name over the door opening. "Killer" works very well. Place the dog house at the side of your drive near the street.

Pound a large steel stake about 10 feet from the dog house and fix a 5/16 steel chain to the stake ring. Run the chain conspicuously back inside the dog house door.

No dogs are needed. Just the thought of having a braking hound with flashing teeth at your car window is enough to make any would be turn around consider which drive to use.

Or, set up a lemonade stand in the same location.

I have posted this on previous threads about turning around in private drives. I was working for an excavating contractor whose equipment yard was not at his home. He lived a short distance from an interstate entrance/exit. For some reason, people would miss the ramp and turn around in his driveway which was on a curve. It must be that when people make that turn around that they are trying to do it too quickly and they get into one's yard?

We brought two large boulders to his home which we placed on either side of the driveway. These were some big "puppies" that we pushed up the ramps on the trailer with a track loader and pulled off with a dozer pre-staged at his home. We allowed room to get say a fire truck into the yard, etc. The boulders may not have limited the turning around but the "boss man" being quite the character got a chuckle every time he had to pick up pieces of red plastic tail light lenses.

I highly doubt that anyone commenting here has never had to turn around in someone's driveway? When I have to turn around, I look for a safe side road first and I would never use a posted driveway.

That nice wide driveway is very inviting for those who are looking for a turn around.

I would try making it make it as narrow as possible. Then, perhaps they continue on to the next one.

I have a similar problem. Unfortunately, I have the only driveway they can use so, they aren't going anywhere else. Perhaps a toll booth would work? :D

They do it here all the time and I understand why they do, my driveway is on a flat stretch so you can see for a long distance both ways backing back out, I don't get to exited about it..

I bet that tractor driver was charged with assault.

It is of course possible for the farmer to do this in a manner he could be charged with assault, I did not see clear evidence of one.

So, I bet he didn't.

No arrests. Already was injunction against Greenpeace about protesting on farmers land. Farmer was upset about not being able to work field so got out the spreader.

Assuming your house is a ways back, one option would be to run underground wiring from the lampposts on the far left to the driveway and install a motorized gate. If the lamps are on a separate photocell, I would bypass that and replace the lamps with ones with a built in photocell. Or just run new wires from the house if it is not that far. Getting out of a vehicle to manually open a gate is a pain on something used very often.

Make sure any gate you put up is not too low to clear your average snow.

I never turn around in anyones driveway, I respect them as I want them to respect me. I drive to the next street or intersection to whip a U turn... or if its tight a "Z" turn as my dad would call it...lol
