How to stop cars from turning around in my driveway

With those protestors a dead animal or two would be something else to drag over there. I assume they were on his property.

I never turn around in anyones driveway, I respect them as I want them to respect me. I drive to the next street or intersection to whip a U turn... or if its tight a "Z" turn as my dad would call it...lol

I do the same, even if I'm on a flat stretch without houses and the road is wide enough, I will make a three point turn..

Getting out of a vehicle to manually open a gate is a pain on something used very often..

I have a cable,and it’s aggravating for sure when it’s RAINING, I’m in the process of a automatic gate.

Humpf!! I have an inner and outer gate. Means I get out of the Taco Wagon four times just getting out of my own driveway. About twenty years ago I looked into the cost of a cattle guard. Made the in/out - 4x - feel a whole lot better.

I grew up near a golf course. Next to it was a golf driving range, long driveway with a chain near entrance owner hooked at closing time.
Someone reported seeing a light on in their building late one night. A deputy pulled in not knowing chain was there. Took windshield and him out.

Mail and garbage trucks both use my driveway to turn around (end of route). I got tired of ruts, so I just fanned out the driveway wider at the road. I may still get ruts in the gravel, but no more on the lawn.

Use a bump gate. Very simple and those not familiar with them would think its a locked gate. You don't have to get out, no remotes to fiddle with, just bump n go either direction.
also theres the tether style, where the vehicle weight operates it. also drive overs....

My two gates are strictly to "control" the neighbors cows. The outer gate keeps them in - the inner gate keeps them out. "My time" is coming soon. The neighbor will be bringing his cows in and feeding them. Then I can leave both gates blocked open. He sends his son around in the spring. Checks my fences around my property and closes the gates. This lets me know that his cows are out grazing.

All of this with the understanding that his cows can drink fresh water from the far end of my little lake - Martin Lk. The big lake - Alkali Lk. - is true to its name. The cows will drink from Alkali but it must be when they need to relieve constipation.
