Tractor Sizing Please help a guy out!

Me and my wife just purchased 5 acres of completely overgrown and neglected land and we're gonna need a tractor. My issue is I'm 6ft 5in and I have size 16 feet. I've sat in as many seats as I could find from as many brands I could find in my area (Kubota, Mahindra, Kioti, LS, JD, and Massey's) in the compact to lower end utility sizes. None of them seem to have enough leg room nor is the accelerator in a comfortable position for my size foot. I know this is not a common problem for most people but I can't be the only one. Is there any brand or size I can try that will offer more leg room or at least a more forward accelerator and not a treadle pedal because my foot actually got stuck on one of those.

I致e got a MF 1540 hydrostatic; mid size tractor. Has a nice flat deck, lots of room.
If you want real comfort, my guess is youæ±*e going to need a large tractor, which may be too much for5 acres

Gonna be tough to find in a CUT sized tractor.

I too, have long legs (but not big feet), and the dealer raised the seat 2.5" for me before delivering it. What a difference it made. No cramped legs.

I bet you could get them to raise your seat 3-5" to help you fit better. I'd also suggest a 2 peddle HST as it should give you more "foot room".

I agree the rocking pedal would not be a good design for you. I also think CUT might be tough fit of any brand. As to what tractor you need for the 5 acres is not the most important, it is what is the right size tractor for you. You need to be able to twist or rotate in the seat to (in my opinion) see at least the right rear tire area to view how the implement is working. Then you could install cameras for that if need be.

I don’t know what your budget is, but the operators station on my JD 4052R is very roomy. My son is almost your size and doesn’t have any complaints about ergonomics.

I'm not as tall as you 6'1" but have long legs and size 13" foot, my smallest tractor is a 3016 Mahindra and my knees would hit the dash so I did a little alteration on the seat and no problems now you might have to do the same going with a compact tractor.

You may be able to raise the seat or move it back. My Kubota L2501 has a hand throttle but I have the treadle HST drive. With a standard transmission speed control should be only with throttle and gears.

Kubota 'Grand L' model tractors (L3560/L4060/L47660/L5060/L5460/L6060) and Kubota MX series (MX4800/MX5200/MX5800) have nearly flat floors and most spacious operating stations in Kubota compact tractor offering.

These tractors are 3,600 pounds to 4,100 pounds bare tractor weight.

I am 6 foot 5 inches with a size 15 shoe. I made a minor modification to my seat, raised it 3.5 inches and moved it back an additional 3 or so. Made all the difference in comfort. It is not difficult to adjust your tractor to you if the room exists. This took about a half hour.

Most of the Compact tractors I just shopped had side by side F and R pedals rather than the fore/aft design.

Last I looked, some of the Massey Fergusons had a different shaped operator's area from the rest of the compact tractors. Lots more room.
I always raise the seat and move it back on any tractor. They all sit down too low.

I would like to save as much as possible but in matters like this one my needs dictate my budget. I'm gonna give the 4052r a look tomorrow.

When I went to the lot they didn't have the 2555 but I'm gonna call around and see if I can find one to try out. You're right I'm probably gonna have to adjust the seat in whatever I find.

Sorry I can’t remember model numbers but it seems like Kioti, JD, TYM and Massey all had models that seemed to give the most room for bigger operators. Many other brands such as kubota,LS and NH seemed to be built for smaller people and I would have had to raise the seat or shorten the pedals on many of thier models.

My cousin is all but 7 ft and he only needs to sit on a thick foam pad to operate my tractor with reasonable comfort. Think the pad he used was about 3 inches thick. So my guess would be those saying to raise the seat 2 to 2 1/2 would be about as close as we here could guess. Look for the most room then raise the seat for the rest.

I'm not even as tall as you fellows and it is still hard to fit on some tractors. On my 3000 I relocated the seat as far back as I could and that helped considerably with comfort. Some tractors feel like I'm driving a go-cart. On some of them the steering wheel is far too low for comfort.

I'm 6'2" and have size 15 feet. The L3560 has ample room, and the rocker pedal is fine for me to use, though I don't rest my foot on it. I could use with a taller seat.

As others have noted the Kubota Grand L's are very different tractors than the standard L's ..... unfortunately from what I've seen they don't seemed to be routinely stocked at dealerships (or at least not in my area).

I suspect the same is true for other brands, though if you can find a dealership that has the premium line of tractors for that brand it's probably worth trying them (if you haven't already).

I'm not exactly short (~6' 2") nor am I skinny/narrow and my L3560 doesn't feel cramped (I wouldn't say it feels overly roomy, but it's definitely not cramped) ... almost more like a properly fitted glove in some ways (even with my rather long arms).

It does have a treadle peddle, but it's shaped such that it can be used like it was two separate peddles with one being a bit aft of the other (which is how I typically use it).

Oh, certainly. The L3301 was cramped, I constantly banged my knee or caught my foot getting on/off at first.(You do it enough and you'll settle in). Floor was cramped for long days, and the brake on the same side as the treadle meant I almost never used it.
