Even as easy as gas tools are becoming to start, I've found that I much prefer electric for small tasks as the electric tools don't develop the issues I've seen with gas tools when used for frequent start/stop short duration tasks.

Exactly... and the reason I started this thread. With battery power technology what it is now, it is hard to justify a gasser unless you are 'in the business' needed heavy duty tools. Even then much of the maintenance type work does not demand a gas engine.

Today I added a fourth Stihl battery tool to the stable... a MSA-200 chainsaw. :cool2:

Oiled her up and gave her a couple test firings. Gotta love the instant on, the quietness, and quick stop. Hope to feed her some wood in the next couple of days. Still sitting with one AP300 battery. I'm figuring one more will be my next investment.

One of my two gas saws will be going on Craigslist soon! Probably the smaller of the two.

Got into the battery tool movement since 2011 and in a meaningful way last and this year. Now I want an electric car or pick up truck. :)

Yeah me too. Lots of battery tools but not sure I want to go that far yet. When it is time to replace my wife’s car though I will take a look.

I've been thinking about it too. We have 3 vehicles. One Subaru is just used for running around locally in Sacramento. Another Subaru is just used for running around locally in Mendocino county. The F150 is used for everything else. Either or both of the Subarus could be replaced with an electric vehicle. But at the low mileage we put on them, they will last at least another 10 years. So getting to play with a new electric vehicle is not happening any time soon.

Seems to me that the Korean electric cars have lifetime batteries.
Makes sence since most all electric car batteries are made in Korea
Also come with a 10 year warrantee on their cars

They are being manufactured by Hitachi in Japan and KY also.

Got a couple cuts in with my new Stihl battery op chainsaw. Wow what a pleasure! Only concern is I don't seem to be getting much oil to the chain/bar. No way to adjust it seems.

Ironically both my Dewalt 20V and 60V battery saws use way too much bar oil.
nothing you can do about it either.
