Let me ask you, if your shooting something bigger than a rimfire supressed, what are you using it for and why do you find it the most "fun"?

I've got my one 300 win mag suppressed, no different than shooting my .308, 7.62x39 or .223 or 22-250 suppressed (other than knowing any POI changes with the can on the gun). Sooner or later I may get something for my .45-70 (

Out of everything I shoot suppressed, it doesn't get any better than a sub .22LR IMO, even for small critter control.

Reading all your posts about suppressors on .22LR has got me wanting a suppressor and dedicated .22 rifle for it.

In Wyoming, we can hunt using silencers...

Some places still have common sense...

:cool2::thumbsup:

Generally speaking, unless you live in the communist state of Kalifornia, New Yorkie, Jerzy and a couple of other areas, I believe it's legal to use a supressor hunting anywhere. Using a can doesn't do away with the sonic crack and you depending on barrel length, you'll probably still want to wear some kind of hearing protection even if using a can on a centerfire rifle cartridge going supersonic.

Curious as well?

And I agree completely regarding a sub 22LR suppressed!

You will NOT be dissapointed. That said, my last friend who came over and shot supressed ended up buying a couple of cans from Silenerco (buy one get one free or along those lines) and the wait time was like 18 months. The wait is well worth it though once you finally get it.

Funny thing, when I first shot it, it sounded real loud and was kind of disappointed because I thought it would be quieter. Couple months later had someone over shooting it and then it dawned on me it wasn't loud at all, just with your ear resting on the buttstock, what was making all the noise was the bolt moving LOL Kind of think quieter than a pellet gun with 30 rounds of not having to deal with compressed air.

Sad to say, sold the rifle long time ago:mad:

The real nice thing about shooting a .22LR pistol suppressed is the fact that even if you get supersonic .22LR, in a pistol length barrel, the rounds will still be subsonic, thus no sonic crack and pretty darn quiet.

Generally speaking, the one set up that generally puts a smile on everyone face is a supressed bolt .22LR with subsonic (still over 1000 FPS) ammo. People are generally suprised how loud shooting a 5.56 sounds.

Do it!!!
My favorite rifle suppressed is a 10/22 takedown...but a Ruger American bolt action is a ball too.
And, if you decide you need a pistol too...go for a Ruger Mark IV Lite or Tactical

I think one of the most fun days at the range was when a fella brought a actual M16 lower with an .22LR upper with a can on it. We were all just lined up loading mags and waiting for our turn on the dueling tree with it. Now that was fun.

I'm not shooting anything suppressed, I was just saying if I did I wouldn't start with a 22lr. And one good reason is ,I don't own one..

Enjoy them while you have them. If a D gets elected, they will be history
