Before fueling and running, I'd stop into one of the others dealers and as a potential customer looking to buy, ask them that question. Gauge their response, then go from there.

I was starting to think along those lines as well.

You can study up on what the saw should soundlike in and out of the cut and do it yourself. Lots of smart saw guys on here and many good threads. I learned so you can too. Leave the carb caps stock until after warranty and then have at it. You'll be surprised what a difference a couple of mods will do. Does anyone really ever have issues with chain saws? My newest saw is a 361 and I have never had any issues with anything until it was 10 years old and needed new lines. Good Luck !!

I bought an Echo 620P online. I have read on an arborist forum that Echos are set kind of lean from the factory and they advise pulling limiter caps because Echos warranties suck even though they advertise a 5 year period. Everything to them is the operators fault.

I ran my 620P out of the box with no adjustment. Have cut maybe 30-40 twenty inch+ oaks and chunked them using this saw and it performed flawlessly for over 3 years.

Don't overthink it. Keep the saw, use good gas and good oil and rip it to her.

I have a dealer 4 miles away but the internet was a lot cheaper. They probably won't cover a claim anyway.

Haven't has to adjust either of my Echo's yet, I'm not understanding the issue here, They set them at the factory like any other saw manufacture, use good fuel and oil mix and cut wood.. Mine have worked great out of the box, don't know why anyone else would get one that doesn't..

IMO...Unless you are at high elevations I don't see any reason to make adjustments to a new saw...(like salting the grits before tasting them)...

These days for a good many different power heads for saws, trimmers, blowers etc., etc...you can buy a new carb with fuel lines, strainer, primer bulbs etc...almost as cheap as you can buy a rebuild kit...

Last few pages about a 590 I got from a guy that bought new. 6 months it was scoring itself from being to lean from factory. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/echo/cs-590-wolf-review-bone-stock/

IMO keep saw and either tune yourself or take to another dealer to be checked for tune. 590 likes it fat, in low 12's to be safe.

Heck start the sucker up make some cuts and see where your tune is even at. You might get lucky and be close and not to lean.

Now the last 400 in the other day that was bought new was pretty close to be right from factory. So you might get lucky.

Now what did concern me was his response to my inquiry about tuning. All of the research I had done indicated that the saws run lean out of the box and need to be tuned. I had folks tell me that the dealer should be able to do this no problem. Well, this guy told me that absolutely no adjustments can by made to the saw by either me or him. He said that the screws to adjust aren't even accessible.

I have a Echo saw and weed eater. Both run fantastic from day one and have never needed any sort of adjustment.

I have serious doubts about what "people" say.

While I tend to doubt almost everyone, in this case, what your dealer is saying to you sounds legit with what I understand about factory settings and Federal Laws regarding emissions.

Care to try that again, maybe in English?

Most folks into chainsaws understands that that lingo just fine. ;)

Fat = on the rich side of settings.
low 12's = 12,000-12,400

What to lean from factory will get ya. 6 month old 590 I bought from original owner and wanted to muffler mod it. Only then was it noticed.
In thread I posted above.
