If only..... in my nearly 79 years on this earth, my knowledge could equal yours.

The only problem with ETA, to me, is the FREE Shipping in general.
Yes, they can stop it, and that would be a shame, but they should have free shipping in the lower 48.

I lived in New England and got the Free Shipping, I now have moved to SoCal and am outside of the Free Area; very disappointed ! :drink:

I purchased a TSC Brush Hog and a local Grader/Scraper instead of going to ETA because of there limits in Free Shipping !

Too Bad their policies don't change to Free Shipping for the lower 48.

Just me !

Well...... here is a little more information.

EA "free shipping" is either to the nearest "freight terminal",(100 miles away) or to a "local business".
The "local business" I have used, is an auto repair shop.
They have no forklift, or dock.
An EA shipment to the auto shop comes on a truck which is always equipped with a lift gate, and the item is set on the ground at the shop.

Then I must hook up my trailer, bring a come-a-long, two planks, and some pipe rollers, and slowly ratchet the pallet onto my trailer.
If the truck were to pull up in front of my residence, it would be easier for him, and I could unload him in seconds,..... without a lift gate.

The auto shop is located in an area more difficult for a truck to access than my residential address, which is roadside.

Yes......EA does state that there will be an extra charge (significant) for delivery to my residence, and then adds a lift gate fee too.
The extra charge quoted on a previous order, was $150......too much for me!

The auto shop is 8 miles from my residence ($150 for 8 miles?)
The trucking company truck passes by my residence every day.
As I mentioned above, this is NOT an issue with Titan, or with other large item deliveries I occasionally get.
Don't blame EA, blame the trucking company. Your address is listed as a residential address, their address is listed as a business address.
The trucking company charges more to deliver to a residential address than to a business address.
Titan is eating the extra cost to deliver to a residential address.

Yes, they tell you when you are ordering that the card will be charged immediately. I bought from them based on reputation of their product quality, but I am not happy with the way they do business. All risk to the consumer and none to them. If they go belly up, what do I have, except an electronic order confirmation?

I agree with you that special orders are, well ... special and I expect to pay in advance and not be able to return the item. But, as you say, they sell a lot of the Wicked Grapples. First off, I don't understand the 8-week lead time. It seems like they could make them ahead of time and sell them pretty quickly. That is the way most businesses work, it's an asset on the books called inventory. If for some reason a buyer changes their mind, I am sure that they could sell from their inventory to somebody else on any given day. Maybe NC has a huge inventory tax or something.

Are they creating an impression of scarcity to enhance their brand? It seems like an investment in fabricators would grow their volume of business significantly.
As I understand, they build them, send them to paint and they ship them, no delay added, they say that the backlog is due to the time it takes to make them.
They recently moved to a new shop so that they build, paint and ship under the same roof (vs trucking them across town to paint and ship), so they should be eating into the backlog unless demand has increased as well.

The grand opening and going out of business announcements can be in the same issue of the news paper. 😂🎩😎

Yeah, it used to shorter - much shorter in fact, but then the "cult" grew ....and there was whole thing about demand growing faster than the size of the business could (prudently) grow. Though if they're back down to 8 weeks it sounds like they are probably getting reducing the backlog (it was 10-12 weeks when I ordered a couple items back in August -- which was why I ordered them in August). A couple years ago the wait time was pretty much just the fabrication and shipping times as there generally wasn't a backlog (or a very minimal one).

....but then again whada I know I mean after all depending on who you ask I'm apparently some sort of cultist --- or even terrorist :D

Not to go too far off topic, but it always confuses me when people start throwing negative labels at/on people since if the person being labeled really was that bad, it'd seem like insulting them would be a rather risky/foolish proposition .....but again that's just me. :confused3:
