Just caught a news blurb. Major snowstorm for part on Montana, the Big Snow Country. Up to five feet in some places.

I passed through Snowtana once. Once. Is it just me, or is this a bit early for that much snowfall? Much of the country is still well into the 90s and many areas are under drought or getting close.

Kinda hard to believe not that far off for some of us...this year slipping bye.

I’m a little west of that. The time of year is normal for a first snow. 5 feet is typical news hysteria. The high country may see a foot, but likely less. Most of it will be melted off by the middle of next week.

It's raining, again, here. We are acting more like it's west of the Cascades. May haps all rain this winter. Wouldn't surprise me. Every winter is a little different.

Snowing here at 3100’ a bit west of Mt. Spokane. Guess I won’t be finishing the outside condenser placement for my shop mini split until it lets up a bit-that’s what I drove over for but I am not doing it in the snow (or, hopefully soon, rain)

Well - schazzbutt. I'm at 2350' in elevation and it's SNOWING like mad. Better have it all together there GSVette - it's moving your way. 9:50 AM local time.

Deer Park, WA - Snowing big flakes here. Al Gore should be expecting a flurry of phone calls inquiring about “Global Warming”. Last time Spokane (25 mins south of us), had snow in September, it was in 1928.

ruff dog - but one thing for certain - snow is snow. Temps have dropped to 34F and it's STILL snowing.

That sure sounded like climate to me, 1928 vs 2019. There is no doubt that glaciers are retreating and have been for 100 years of more. Can we do anything about it, I seriously doubt that we can change the earths climate changing. It has cycled between cold and warm since the beginning of time, at least that is what the archaeologist say. The artic was once a jungle otherwise there couldn't be oil under all that ice.

Yes, for billions of years the temps on Earth have been going up or down. For the very short time humans have been here, and, for the only the latest short time period of their existence, co2 and temps are climbing.

Well-still snowing a bit. Finished heat pump install but no bueno on it running-kind of appears that the board in the outside unit isn’t wired correctly-only one leg of the 220v circuit appears to continue on from the line in hook up-got a call in to Mr Cool tech support-see what they say on Monday.

This is the earliest I've ever turned on the heat in the house. It snowed all night and still is. Only have about an inch - but that can change. Brownie and I went down south four days ago. Still quite a few wheat fields were uncut. Sure hope the farmers got that taken care of. This early snow is bound to raise havoc.

It's 32F here.

Probably high 30’s here-maybe an inch of snow on gravel-more in meadows. Hopefully drive back to the west side later this am won’t be overly challenging

I looked at your climate numbers and it seems you are one month ahead of us for peak cold. Your coldest month is Dec while ours is Jan, your Oct really gets cold at the end while it is our Nov.
It does seem strange to me how the polar jet stream sags down into the states more often than I remember it doing.

Drove the Taco Wagon out to get the mail. BIG weather warning/alert came in on UConnect. If you can believe our wx prognosticators - this coming week will see high 40's & mid 50's. Geese - I REALLY don't want to go into winter this early.

It's times like this - going into the cold & damp season. I wonder how the Atacama Desert is, this time of year. Warm & dry....??
