I read the ingredients in the Red Bull or one of those other "energy drinks" which was free with a Cabela's order, and that was enough to make me leave it alone.

I never read the ingredients but one ingredient that I noticed, it's all the young kids in their 20's and 30's that are drinking it, Rock Star is another name.

The CDC issued a statement on Friday. Seems the majority of the reported cases do indeed involve THC. I suspect it's almost all but if you get sick you are going to lie...not much $$$ in suing some fly-by-night internet outfit.

This Thread has grown up quick..., Vaping is a last ditch effort of the Cigarette companies to sink or swim.
They direct most of their ads towards younger people and the ease of using it in a secure places.

It is costing all of us in the long run; higher insurance costs, higher taxes, the two sides of the government will figure how each other caused the problem to begin with and pass a bill to help the Vapers, they need help to recover... (?), to live on... because of their decision, THEY chose to do !

Yes I agree with the statement drain the Cig Companies Bank accounts to help, it will put an end to the Cigarette Companies once and for all !

One last comment, what is being smoked in the Vaping Machines isn't as important as "How the Vaping Machines are used", excessive use of these devices with either a Nicotine Substance (with additives) or with THC, the over use is the real problem. The family circle is breaking down more and more, without GOD and without FAMILY we are all in trouble and the over use of Vaping is just the top of the pile at the moment, Family Values are what we need to start teaching agin and that begins at home... PARENT R U Listening !

Well since I started this thread, I thought I would comment from what we have learned in the intervening time.

It would seem that most if not all of these cases of deaths and injuries from vaping seem related to "bootleg" cartridges usually associated with THC, that include additives and other poisons. It would seem that the "regular" nicotine cartridges put out by the large corporations like Juul and others are not the cause of these deaths and injuries.

I still think the idea of vaping nicotine or anything else is not good for you and is a idiotic thing to do on its face. But any injuries from it will be long term and much harder to pinpoint the cause. Of course there is always over reaction to any "crisis". And nowadays everything is a "crisis". Everyone wants relief (monetary) for all the foolish things they do to themselves. "but if didn't know it would harm me! " is the rallying cry, when anyone with half a brain knows any activity like vaping cannot be good for you, let alone you hunting up illegal substances to stuff in your little pen.

So to sum up, I still have very little sympathy for those that have been injured by vaping some garbage they bought from some illicit dealer. Just like I have very little sympathy for those that shoot rat poison into their veins thinking they are getting "good" heroin. Once you go down the road to being a hooplehead idiot, anything can happen to you.

If I sat on the jury of any case brought against any of companies, I would not award one thin dime.

A simple Internet search would have shown that this is not the case...yes there has been some deaths related to some bootlegged cartridges but they are hardly the crux of the vaping health issues...(including some strokes and deaths)...there is a plethora of other health issues directly related to (legally obtained) vaping and not necessarily cigarette smoking etc...

You apparently don't know much about the vaping industry. It's growth was pretty much an internet thing with little involvement from the tobacco companies. Sure, they all tried to get in on it but they were small players.

It's on the internet so it must be true. Forget that there is a very coordinated attack on the whole category and such campaigns always involve dissemination of lies. IMHO it's a fools errand because if successful it will only drive the whole demand underground where the evidence is showing that's where the problem lies. We can't seem to eliminate demand for dangerous drugs that kill 1,000's of people annually (and would kill many more if not for Narcan). We couldn't eliminate demand for alcohol during prohibition (where many people turned to contaminated product that killed them). Put nicotine on the same list.

I tend to agree with all you said, but I think a very large percent of people are just plain stupid to begin with; and will at anytime drink themselves senseless daily, smoke till their lungs are toast, drink diet soda's till their stomachs are gone, pop pills till they die, and generally try anything to dull their minds to escape the misery of their lives . And the amazing thing about all of this, is you and I get to pay for their bad habits and endless healthcare. I feel sorry for none of them.
