It's on the internet so it must be true. Forget that there is a very coordinated attack on the whole category and such campaigns always involve dissemination of lies. IMHO it's a fools errand because if successful it will only drive the whole demand underground where the evidence is showing that's where the problem lies. We can't seem to eliminate demand for dangerous drugs that kill 1,000's of people annually (and would kill many more if not for Narcan). We couldn't eliminate demand for alcohol during prohibition (where many people turned to contaminated product that killed them). Put nicotine on the same list.

I tend to agree with all you said, but I think a very large percent of people are just plain stupid to begin with; and will at anytime drink themselves senseless daily, smoke till their lungs are toast, drink diet soda's till their stomachs are gone, pop pills till they die, and generally try anything to dull their minds to escape the misery of their lives . And the amazing thing about all of this, is you and I get to pay for their bad habits and endless healthcare. I feel sorry for none of them.

Are you really paying for their bad habits? I know many people that enjoy smoking and alcohol (and pay outrageous "sin taxes" for the privilege) and have never turned to government to pay their medical bills.

I follow the issue carefully. The coordinated attack is hardly a conspiracy theory. It is the same battle plan used against the tobacco industry in the 1990's. Bombardment of "news" stories on radio/tv and now the internet.

The nanny bandwagon started on the Internet long before the mainstream media (radio/TV) picked up on the sensationalism of the topic...the health issues are nothing new

Good point when I went to the SS office to start mine years ago at 66 the office was full 50-60 people . . . there was MAYBE 4 of us there old enough to collect it at full age retirement . . . the bulk of the people were young people trying to get disability or some other kind of handout.

Lets put it this way, There are 9 houses on my street, average four people per household, At least half of them don't work including their kids.. Jobs everywhere, lazy people raising lazy people and lawyers and doctors swearing to their lies...
