Supposed to be 98 today!! And I'm about tired of it!

It’s been over 90 and high humidity the last few days here. It’s awful fall can’t come fast enough.

I used to like FREE wood and uniform lengths but the odd lengths give me a cut off piece that I would split in smaller pieces, when I have enough of the smaller pieces to burn, I used to fill the old Vigilant and it would burn for a long time, it should have burned faster will all the air space but if I remember right, they burned so hot I would turn down the stove and it turn get a longer burn.

Of course the best part is FREE, that's used to be for me !

Our family calls it chunk wood, they burn for a long time because they are usually all the knots. I burn chunk wood in the earlier months of winter because I can't usually fit a lot in the stove from their odd shapes.

I don't understand, you guys have 98* and get sick of it. We have 30* below and just can't get enough of it....:laughing:

Wow, we'll be lucky to get in the upper 60's. That's perfect though, I'm putting down 5500 square feet of sod today. Yaaaa no more mud.:laughing:

Yep, I have a couple ponds also, we like swimming in the pool better though.. I save the ponds for fishing..

We had a good frost last night. Now I can pick my Brussels sprouts and feed the rest to the pigs.

I just missed the frost, had 36* this morning and the wife did start the wood stove, I knew she would wood. Sure is nice to be able ware cloths again..................

All it has been doing is raining so the Toolcat stays put in the shed. I'm still waiting for "normal" Fall weather and it sounds like next week it will come. I think I might go out and program some different radio stations so I'm ready to go if the ground firms up.

My older brother lived out west for most of his adult life. He and his wife just bought a house in Western Maine, and are moving back from Phoenix right now. Aside from the heat, it's too crazy out there.
