52°F and partly cloudy this morning, going up to 69° today. Definitely not hating this weather.

Concert was fantastic Wednesday night, and went as long as expected. We got out of there about 10:50, and were home right at midnight. Was off Thursday, and got a whole lot of nothing done all day.

Back at work today, and apparently everything fell apart while I was gone. Seems no one wants to admit to being able to read a part drawing to approve anything while I'm gone, and they let a part sit for another day, one that the customer has already been upset about shipping being late (sigh). The woman in the upstairs office who does all the production scheduling put in her two-week notice yesterday, and the machining department supervisor put in his this morning. Someone suggested I not take off any more days for awhile.

Congrats, Thomas. Now it's official.

When I dug that terrace, the ground was so hard the backhoe would barely cut it. I had to raise the boom up into the air and slam it into the ground before it would bite. I would have liked to get down another foot or so, but I hit rock and had to give up. I probably didn't need to use blocks at all, but my miserable backhoe skills left the hillside looking like it got a very bad haircut. :laughing:

Yes they did. I did the project around 2002. Got them from HD. It’s been awhile. No instructions on their site now. Lowe’s says 28”. https://www.lowes.com/n/how-to/build-a-block-retaining-wall. I have one section that is over 36” with no problems. Even with the frost we get.

49F more sun than clouds now 20mph wind shaking leaves from the trees.
Weather station saying good chance of killing frost by morning 32F or colder,Mrs. pick all the veggies from the garden what she didn't want made piles here and there for the wildlife.
I have gut feeling Mrs. going to start her wood furnace for the first time and I'm not looking forward to that.
Got all the fields and spruce tree area trim...whew... Mrs. said I didn't have to do all that at once "your retire remember" :ashamed:
Mrs. ask what you want for dinner I reply BIG ole thick pizza loaded and she said okay with

Got electrical service to 2 barns completed. Tested and all building now have 240 volts to them. I must have climbed the 3 ladders 100 times getting all ends hooked up. Another item off the list.
