RK Customer Service help/suggestions.

Not to ruffle any feathers but sometimes having a real, franchised, physical dealer is better than having a store that only sells tractors with limited or no service. Price isn't everything, obviously.

So I met Doug at the Gainesville store and he actually walked the store with me and talked with me. He told me about his experience with other big brands and told me that he was going to be starting a new division at rural king separate from the retail division and that it would only be tractors and that he would be the VP for that new entity.

A week later I send him an email and I get a crappy response with a watered down 妬t happens everywhere response to the eleven FEL issue.

A week later he痴 gone and I was told he was fired. Not sure what the truth in it is. Don稚 really care.

What I care about is the future of our tractors. I have also been to the local store where the service area is an abomination. I picked up a piece of equipment where the red paint was literally still wet. It stuck to my tshirt as I loaded it in the bed of my truck.

Now don稚 get me wrong, I love the tractor. I don稚 have one complaint. The service I received from the lead sales person was phenomenal. But everything else has been horrible.

I tried to look up the parts for the fifty hour maintenance today from the parts list on the website and their own SKUs and none of them show up on the website.

Contact the 鍍ractor guy and he said 努e hope to carry parts for the tractors one day? I was like WTF.

I知 beyond baffled. I have the worst feeling that this was one of the worst investments I致e ever made. I hope I知 wrong but my gut is telling me otherwise.

Hopefully TYM will service the tractor. And they (TYM) wanted my business so bad, but because the salesman was a salesman and belittled RK as a tactic, I didn稚 go with them.

Serves me right for having scruples.

Wow gunny what are the odds I'd find someone so close to me on here. I live in Gainesville myself. Anyways, I can understand your frustration because I too visited the RK in Gainesville when I was shopping for tractors about 3 weeks ago and was not impressed with the 'back end' service knowledge. That's why I wound up ruling them out of the contenders list at the time. I would say you didn't make a bad investment because they're made by TYM and they do make good tractors but the RK tractors strike me as a 'diy' priced tractor. I hope they release a service manual for it because I wasn't able to find one and a diy tractor should always have one available in my opinion.

If you read back through his posts here, you'll see a lot of that. And you'll see a lot of us calling him out on it. He alone may have turned at least a few people off the 'brand'.

I was rooting for RK when they first came in here harder. But when threads like these start circulating the net it's advertisement I'm sure they don't want...

So are there any warranty issues with doing the 50 hour maintenance yourself?

This appears to be developing into one of those scenarios, where if it seems too good to be true (RK tractor pricing).......it usually is.

Shouldn't be. I've always done ALL my own scheduled services on my big Kubota's. Why incur additional cost for someone to change filters and replace lubricants. But then people take their cars in for scheduled service or to a 10 minute oil change place. I don't do any of that.

I'm wondering if the RK scenario will turn out like the Montana tractor deal? Or better yet, the Northern Hydraulic tractor deal.
