Check out weathertech, the floorliner company, they have a nice XL cup holder rig that works well for big phones..

For iPhones the 7 is the oldest version that will still take the new iOS13 update. So if you have one older you will no longer get updates. I am a creature of both worlds. I was born before the “digital” age and grew up in a household with no computers, no cell phones. By the time I was a senior in high school everyone had pagers and my Dad had one of those big brick cellular phones for work. Video games showed up when I was around 12. In college the personal computer age started and the internet was born.

Crazy to think back but I really was a kid of both worlds. We played outside all day with friends, came in for lunch and dinner only. Fast forward to today and I just got done monitoring “screen time” on my 15 year old’s iPhone to be sure he isnt watching YouTube and playing MarioKart 5 hours a day. He has tons of friends in school and isnt antisocial, but these kids just look at devices in a different way than we did.

I have an iPhone 6s, and I'm running iOS 13.1.2. I believe there are some features of the latest update that don't work on my phone, but it's still considered compatible.

My iPhone 7 is very useful every day. Checking something quickly via Google Maps such as restaurant menus, opening times, reviews, other alternative stores nearby. Discounts at the grocery store by scanning a barcode on the phone, video taping or otherwise documenting something funny or dangerous or litigious, apps to identify plants or birds, topo maps that track pathway, directions that call out so no need to look away from road to make sure a exit isn’t missed, texts to/from family or friends in emergencies (the original reason I even got a cell phone - 9/11), weather alerts and forecasts. Apps that can measure how far the shade will extend into a clearing during a different time of year, ability to answer the doorbell while away from home, keep an eye on the shed where my tractor is locked up and receive motion alerts.

One thing I don’t use the phone for is any kind of payment app connected to any accounts. Just will not allow it same as never using a credit card on a skeevy ATM I am unfamiliar with.

Plus the iPhone and iPad have proven trouble free and nearly indestructible having been dropped many times. Updates are easy and malicious viruses non-existent so far.

I agree, I don't use it for anything of the sort as well..

Do you think the iPhone is better than the Samsung or is it overpriced?

I had a Samsung for a long time. About six months ago, I thought about buying an iPhone 11. I've been using it for six months now, and, frankly, I think it's overrated. Samsung is much more comfortable to use. So I decided to go back to my old Samsung. I wanted to give the iPhone to my younger sister, but I figured why not sell it and get good money for it. It was in excellent condition, so I could quickly sell it for https://buybackboss.com/. I don't regret initially spending quite a bit of money on the iPhone because it was my experience anyway. I now know for sure that I will never repurchase an iPhone.

I had an old iPhone 7, loved it. Always worked. Thing lasted me about 6 or 7 years. What killed it though was the charging port. Got to the point that it wouldn't hold a charge (or it would be charging and then not charge, but you wouldn't notice it).

I depend on my phone for work. I pretty much use it for storing and emailing documents when I'm on a job site.

After it was determined that the charging port was getting shot and they couldn't repair it, went to a iPhone 12 mini.

I HATE this thing not because of what it can offer, but because of the issues of not being able to make phone calls or sending texts. It's not often, but it happens generally in areas that I never had issues with and the signal is strong.

After my first complaint, they gave me a lower "G" network sim card. Yeah, it's 5g, but 5g isn't worth a crap in the country, and it turns out at least per the phone people, this was the major problem. Thing is, even after I had the sim card replaced, still have problems from time to time, and funny thing is the every so often the phone decides not to actually be a phone is when I really need to make a phone call for work and I'm on the road (again, exact same spots where my iPhone 7 would always work), but this phone isn't nearly as dependable IMO.

I'm documenting all the times this thing doesn't work and will be going in by the end of the year to see what they can do.

I would like to have a new iPhone but I dont think they are 5g capable yet.
I have a iPhone 12 Pro I ordered last Dec. it's 5G capable. I bought my wife a 12 Mini last month, it's 5G capable as well. Cell service is good here now, we ditched our landline.

5G on your phone really doesn't mean anything unless you live in an area that actually has 5G.

Per my previous post, at least after my first "ticked off customer" encouter, what was explained to me by Verizon is that if you have a 5G phone with the appropriate sim card, it can actually hurt the reliability of your phone.

They could of been feeding me a line of BS, but I've only had my phone for about 6 months now. That iPhone 12 sucks as I'm in the exact same area I use to use my iPhone 7 without a hiccup, and now every once in a while (perhaps once of twice every couple of weeks) a call will not go through nor will a text. I didn't spend that kind of money on a phone that will not actually make a call or take a call when it should (as mentioned, iPhone7, never a problem, but in the EXACT same location with the iPhone 12, it will drop out).

I pretty much live on my phone 24/7 with work, and can tell a huge difference between the iPhone 7 vs the iPhone 12mini.

I'd much rather have my iPhone 7 back and screw that 5G crap.
