I've been meaning to attach a fire extinguisher to the tractor for a long time. Finally remembered to buy the clamps while at the hardware store.

Here's hoping I never need it! :)

That will work good if something on the tractor catches fire.

Hope you never need it for sure!!!!

16 months ago a buddy's beloved Kubota B7800 suddenly caught fire in Ottawa while he was mowing. He baled off and helplessy watched it burn up. The damage was so complete, the fire officials could never determined how the fire originated!

Looks good! Mine sits beside the seat inside of a small piece of 5" fire hose.

I've one of my Frontier document holders attached to my right fender just to the right of where my right foot normally is. The fire extinguisher just slides into the doc holder.

Had to replace a while back. Some brush had pulled the pin, and I accidently hit the lever and discharged it.

Both my tractors have extinguishers mounted under the steering wheels and my round baler has a built in supression system. Always good to err on the safe side.

Have you guys ever used "Tundra" fire extinguishers? They are not a one-use spray, they are like an aerosol that can be used whenever. I carry one in my car. They seem to be really good.

My only suggestion is to cut up an old/cheap 'stubbie holder' (koozie?) made from foam neoprene... use strips of it as an anti-vibration barrier between the U-bolts and the ROPS.

Everything that I've added to my tractor (fire-extinguisher, light bar, side mirror) has incorporated a vibration dampening barrier of some sort.

I have a similar extinguisher mounted in a similar manner.
One caution though!
The type extinguisher shown, with the plastic valve and handle, is the big box store type, and is notorious for breaking when you need it.
If you leave your tractor out in the sun/weather at all, the plastic will deteriorate quite rapidly.
I took all the plastic valve extinguishers I owned to the dump (I had 6), and replaced them with metal valve/handle types.
The metal valve/handle extinguishers are more expensive, but when you NEED an extinguisher, you NEED an extinguisher that you KNOW will work!
Take note: Places of business DO NOT have plastic top extinguishers!
Extinguishers sold with plastic valves/handles are homeowner garbage, made to sell for a cheap price.

I appreciate the advice, fried1765. But this one, even though by First Alert, has metal handles, valve and nozzle.

First Alert fire extinguisher at Costco.

I do agree with you on the cheaper ones.

I'm pretty sure his has a metal handle.

I conceal carry one all the time, everywhere I go. Except airports.
I hope I never have to use it, and I overwhelmingly likely won't, but if by some small chance I do, I'll be ready to come to the rescue!
Sure it's impractical, statistically ridiculous, and I'm more likely to hurt myself carrying it everywhere, but you can't be too safe and I don't comprehend irony. It's scary out there!

?
Why do you conceal/carry a fire extinguisher?

How would you conceal/carry a fire extinguisher? ... the 'bulge' would be very conspicuous.

I think CobyRupert's post above must have been tongue-in-cheek..

Is that a fire extinguisher in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

Perhaps... but why, then, would he explicitly exclude 'airports'? That's where extra inflammable fluids are: avgas, JP5 and the elusive (from what I've read on TBN) ethanol-free petrol.

Heck, airports even have their own Fire Brigade!

I'm boggled.

Well played, Wagtail. :)

Good reminder...

I've had mine on the Deere 110 for 6 years now... all I do is look at the gauge.

Every December I have extinguisher guy come to the Hospital to recertify... I will bring mine along and just pay him to do the same... dry chem.
