- Kubotas B2710, M6800, L6060 cab, Volvo EC excavator, 2 ZTRs and various implements.
No idea on the LS tractor, have only briefly looked at them. Only recently has a dealer come within I would say about 100 miles of me.
I have a B2710 Kubota I have used 6 foot rear finish mower with. We have zoysia grass and when it is hot and wet it can bog that tractor down. Other wise it handles the mower well. That tractor handles a 53" rough cut mower very well. Tractor is 4 wheel drive and hydro. Not dusty with that set up.
We have two ztr's. First one is 52" with 20 hp Kohler engine. Our lawn is about 2 1/2 acres to mow. I can cut it with this mower in 3/4 the time it takes with the Kubota and the 72" deck. Yes we have some trees but not many and with the ztr mower needs little trimming. Have never used a mid mount mower so no idea how it would compare. ZTR is dusty but not bad.
Now the second ZTR is Ferris commercial 61" deck with 37 hp Kawasaki. I can come off that mower very dusty. The grass clippings will even blow back on me when turning if you turn wrong with any breeze. But cuts light greased lighten. As to smooth lawn, that mower is full suspension with springs and shocks and I run it wide open and yes we have some old stumps holes that need filling now. It will our cut the tractor and 6' mower by a good bit. Have used to mower bermuda hay field beside the Kubota B2710 and rear finishing mower and it just runs by it. Now hp is about 40 or so percent larger. Uses gas much heavier than the tractor does diesel. Great ride. Like being in recliner.
Where the ztr has advantage is speed in mowing, trimming near trees or plants or anything compared to tractor and mower deck I think. Also it is always set up to MOW. The Bushog ZTR is very easy to mount and dismount. Disadvantages, the Ferris is easy to mount but the seat does slightly recline and it can be hard to get up out of seat if say rear wheels are bogged down. ZTR is not good on wet slopes, due to the rear wheels being both the steering and the traction. Will bog down quicker than you can stop the mower. Not design to run down the road with, I trailer to my mother in laws about 1/2 mile away. With
Tractor and mower, again no experience with mid mount so referencing rear finish mower. Better for running to your in-laws that distance. No idea on changing blades how easy it would be compared to ztr, my guess about the same. You have a multi use machine.
I for certain would want hydro trans on the tractor and of course the ztr use hydro drive.
Might need to consider insurance and storage.
I am 66, good health. I prefer the ztr for mowing greatly even though use the tractor and finishing mower and rough cut mower a good bit. I would want a cab but that it personal choice and also depends on your trees and such.
