Hi everyone
I posted a thread a few months ago about a front mounted rotary broom. Here it is https://www.tractorbynet.com/forums...nt-sweeper-b7500.html?highlight=b7500+mid+pto
After going through some headaches on sourcing the right parts and spending all kinds of money and time I got it done. I finished the job I had to do with the broom and then sold it. I kept the mount in order to use it in the future for a snow blade or snow blower. I never liked the fact that the design of that mount is so bad that it only leaves about 6 inches ground clearance and so I cannot keep it on all the time as I was planing to do. Yesterday I got the biggest headache of all. I purchased a used leaf blower "scag" with a keyed 1 inch shaft and about an aluminum fan. Its not very big but i span it with a 2000 rpm drill and looks like it would do a decent job. Its made by RAD model number "scag 9306". It has a kubota style sleve that fits the quick hitch one. I dont know, nor can I find any info on it but it was really cheap and I thought I can mount it to the tractor.
I once more muscled the quick hitch mount on to the tractor to see how it would fit and quickly decided it would not work because again It just sits too low and I hate taking it on and off. I was underneath the tractor trying to muscle the pto shaft off and then it happened. THE FN SHAFT CAME LOOSE, slipped off my hand AND FELL ON MY FN HEAD hitting me right between the eyes.
I was fuming......I packed the **** thing and Im gonna list it for sale as soon as the bump on my eyebrow gets better grrr...%*^%^#@$#$@#$$%^$. It cost me almost 1300.00 and I think its garbage!
Please note this is only my opinion _albeit a very strong one_.....I might also be more lazy or more of a klutz than most of you but in either case that setup wont work for me.
I always thought I could use the mid PTO _if I was able to bring it to the front of the tractor_ for various implements that require high speed and/or are easier to operate in the front rather than the back of the tractor. I want to find a way to do that using a mid pto adapter to a straight (aprox 5ft) shaft supported by a couple of pillow blocks and want it to come out right below the front plate/bumper. I checked the clearances and it looks like I have enough space for an unobtrusive setup permanently mounted to the tractor.
I could remove the bucket on the loader and use it to raise/lower the implements and then lock the joystick to prevent accidents.
Can anybody help with this setup? Is it even possible? any ideas on what is the proper adapter from the mid pto to a yoke to a straight shaft?
I have welding skills and mechanical ability but lack knowledge in the tractor and implement department.
I'm including some pictures below
Thanks for looking

There are a lot of posts out there over the years about adding front PTO on Kubotas relating to snow blowers. I cannot help with direct experience but the two factors to consider are rpm and direction of rotation for whatever you are trying to do. Good luck mechanically (and medically!)

I had a B7500 back in the early 2000’s with a front snowblower on it. Can’t remember all the details (traded up to a larger tractor around 2007), but it had the extended shaft to get the pro power to the front. My vague recollection was that the pro shaft extension was part of the snowblower framework, but most likely could be separated.

Maybe search on google for a B7500 snowblower and see if there is a cheap used one you could use for parts

That set up has more than a passing interest to me...

I built my own mid pto shaft support for my B7200 . It looks a lot like the unit you have. But I made it a bolt up unit that would be a real pia to remove seasonally. I should take some pics and post them. ;-)

I'm not sure if my property would get the best use out of the blower unit though. I do use the Husqvarna back-pac leaf blower quit a bit this time of year.

I sure enjoy the front mount snow blower through the winter ;-)

@ JWR direction of rotation and rpm already considered. Direction of rotation fixed by removing blower covers and switching front to back. Unsure of rpm but the more the better ....and probably more medical issues.....:(
@ seville009 I have the factory setup but I hate that it cannot be used with the fel attached and reduces ground clearance to less than 5 inches!
@ CalG. I would love to see pictures of the setup you built.
I did a lot of google searches and even though I dont have good results yet I did see some older _I believe B7100's_ that have a pulley and belt system on the crank that runs a front pto. That may be an option.
I also found out that some john deere use a long shaft for the mid to front pto conversion. Will look into that as well I have to find out the length, Here it is John Deere BM2534 >> Harvest Equipment and Theriault Equipment

I would like to find an adapter to convert the mid PTO output shaft to 6 spline the same size as the rear in order to be more compatible. Any thoughts there?

Regarding the adapter, there has been a post where the hardware was identified, and it was available pretty readily, BUT, in the case of the B7100 and B7200 mid pto , there is no possible way to hook up a quick releasing coupler. There is just not enough radial clearance. Some sort of cross pin splined sleeve adapter could be fitted I'm sure, but then, why change?
Your tractor might run into a similar space restraint.

What you want is something like this. Tucks up pretty tight. But then you need to rethink the blower mount.

I found the post about the adapter but only shows availability here 31/32"-1 Female Spline x 1-3/8"-6 Male Spline (3-32-355). I will call to confirm. Does this fit my tractor? 2003 B7500 HST.

This is what Im trying to do. _see pictures below_
I would like some help in identifying the parts I need to put this together. I would rather not cannibalize the Kubota quick mount that I already have since its almost new, I used it twice, in hopes of selling it to try and recover the cost.
20191020_164011.jpg20191023_164034.jpg20191023_164045.jpg20191023_164057.jpg20191023_172720.jpg

I don't know all the technical names for the parts or sizes and spline count I need but in short it should be something like this: adapter=>cross with quick release on the adapter side=>long (about 3') solid splined or keyed shaft =>cross right before the loader mount support that comes down a bit lower =>fixed (shorter) solid shaft bolted to the tractor frame with two pillow blocks to support the fixed shaft=>one more pillow block on the bumper support with the "6 spline 1 3/8" end output shaft protruding about 4".
This might sound ridiculous especially for someone who already has the right mount for it already but here is my take on it:

Pros of this setup:
-Cheaper than the factory setup by at least 1k
-Permanently mounted and ready to use. (might wanna disconnect the shaft to the pto for long periods of non use for safety reasons) PLEASE DON'T PUT YOUR HEAD DIRECTLY BENEATH IT WHEN YOU DO SO!
-Low profile. Does't reduce clearance by more than a couple of inches below the drive axle
-output shaft compatible with other implements like snow blowers, washer pressure pumps, spray pumps Hydraulic pumps or other third party implements
-output shaft can readily be matched with adapters locally available to other type shafts
-output spin direction and RPM can be easily manipulated (bumper mounted gearbox etc) and removed when not needed
-more garage/workshop time and less time making dinner or cleaning the house!

Cons of this setup
-obviously the engineering and work involved to come up with a stable safe design is a lot but we can all contribute and make it happen !) wink wink....
-loss of some clearance. (not really, because this setup although less heavy duty will be removable if needed)
-Warranty issues for some (I'm already ok with that)
-More medical issues for some of us....:(
-subject to ridicule if it doesn't come out good.....I'm ok with that too

I remain hopeful

I Also thought of a two chain/spring system connected to the bumper on one end and to each of the loader arms on the other as a quick and cheap way to limit the lifting height of the loader and prevent catastrophic failure of the pto drive-line, if the loader is to be used for lifting the connected implements. Im sure there is other ways but for the moment I think it will suffice to supplement my very frequent lack of good judgment.
