GM trucks have slipped

I've had new 1500's --2011 1500 SLE with a 6.2, 2013 Delali and a 2016 All-Terrain SLT and now a 2019 2500 Dmax Denali. No problems with any of them. As with anything, there are some bells and whistles that are fairly useless and a few things I wished they had but nothing that's a game changer for me. Wish the GM 2500's had the ladder like the fords, that bed is high and with a tonneau cover, there's not much to grab a hold of when using the bumper steps..And they are pretty high too.

My neighbor has a new Ford 2500 6.2 gasser--Nice truck, I'd buy it. Prior to that he was a hard core Dodge guy--Too many suspension problems for my tastes..Ball joints, wheel bearings etc. They are sharp looking though.

On the 2500 6.2 Ford;we have some friends on a hunting trip from NY to Colorado;towing just a small trailer/RTV...…...9mpg!

Yeah, He does mention the lousy MPG's..Best he can do empty and on the interstate is about 13. I can get 21+ if I drive like an adult.

That's what happens when somebody buys a work truck for a family vehicle.

Good part is: He doesn't really care. He knew what he was getting into. He had a Ram 2500 HD with a 9" lift and pretty steep gears 5.7 Hemi--He's used to lousy gas mileage.

I had a 6.2 in 2012, the MPG was not good.. Pretty good engine but the MPG these days in a deal breaker..

I'm curious to see what the new 7.3 gas engine is able to do as far as EPA rating, and how it performs. I think it will be a great alternative to the PSD. I believe they go on sale officially in November.

There won't be an EPA rating on it. EPA ratings only apply to the lighter trucks, below 8500 GVWR I think.

I bet TFL truck will do a MPG test on their 100 mile loop test as soon as 1 is available.

Current truck leader out of all trucks they have ever tested (and I think it was a fluke ) was the new 2020 eco diesel Ram

For some reason their test showed 40+ MPG. they are eventually going to re run that test.

I do think the new 7.3 will do well for such a large cu. inch engine,.

Can't say much for GM's fit and finish, since I haven't been in a newer one in quite some time. But their exterior styling has gone down the drain! Ugliest truck on the road right now is the 2020 Chevy. Hideous grill design. Rest of the body isn't so bad, but can't get past the soulless grill.

I've owned all the major brand over the years, been a pretty loyal Ford guy for a while. But gotta say the Ram has come a long way in just a few years. Yes, they are ALL too expensive!
