Well, I finally had enough information to start adding up the cost of parts that I absolutely needed to fix the dozer.

When I got to $2000 with a ways to go yet (plus the inevitable gotchas) I said "Nope. Tain't worth it. Wouldn't be prudent."

I've fixed up enough old stuff to know when it's worth more in parts than it would be as a running unit, and this is clearly in that category.

Time to run while I still have a decent chance of breaking even.

I'd love to do it if money was no object, but I don't have that luxury.

I would simply say....You really NEVER know,.... until (if) the nasty surprise comes!
After 28 years, mine sure surprised me, when she ran off with with my best friend.
Cost ME a bundle!
It was a really a tough time.
I thought my life was over.
Now.......many years later,.... my life is wonderful.
