Ventless wall mount natural gas heater

I'm still reading up on these and was reading some comments and someone mentioned that gas cooking ranges and stove are ventless and don't seem to cause an issue. I don't know if that is a good comparison though. I'm trying to talk myself into buying one as you can see. :) I see a lot of negatives thoughts on ventless, but then again, I'm using it for supplemental heat, so I don't see it being an issue.

I would be 100% confident. I have been doing gas installs since 1980 and have always serviced what I sold. That being said my wife has a better sense of smell than I do but she did not have any complaints either.

That makes me feel good to hear.

Have you looked into a mini split? My buddy spent under $1000 and has been very happy with his.

No, do you mean like a heat pump?

I put one in my workshop and in my garage and both work great. In our area whenever I go to someones house it is very common to see. I never heard anything negative about using them. Cheap and easy to install.

Yes heat pump in the winter and AC in the summer. My buddy’s was kicking out 100.6°f air when it was 26°f yesterday morning.

I have an Empire 30K Blue Flame propane wall mount in my living room for emergency heat. I run it every few years, then make sure it is clean and wrap it in plastic. Works great.

I have a 20,000 btu propane unit I use to heat a 2,000 sq ft house. It's all I use. I have used it for the last 6 years or so. No problems with moisture or smell. 99% efficient... My propane bill went down considerably. My central heating units only get turned on if we get in the low teens. Pretty much never. Your one room? No problem.

Hello,
I have never owned a ventless heater so I'm only going by what I heard, but I have heard that the ventless ones leave a film or black residue on the walls. Anyone ever experience anything like that ?

I've heard that, CO2 and also about the moisture, but the moisture and CO2 issue I don't think will be an issue for me. I would only use this heater as supplemental heat. Also, since I have a fireplace in the same area, I'm sure I get downdrafts of outside air when the fireplace isn't running.

I did purchase one last night. I have it partially installed. I needed a couple more gas fittings to finish the connections.
