I Still Hate My Tractor II

I agree and I don't think the brand matters at all. He could have gotten the same tractor in multiple brands. I also think Fred is above the naysayers in his abilities and talent. Maybe that's the part they can't stand? :D

You might be into something right there. :D

quite possibly

He clearly has excellent abilities - both mechanically and trolling-ly :D Clearly he chose an underpowered tractor for his needs, but the brand bashing always seemed silly to me. Kubota didn't "hose" him, he just chose incorrectly which one. I'm guessing he would have been much happier with a 5740 but got a 3940 instead. Or maybe not. I sure have no power complaints with my 5240 but felt the previous 3130 was underpowered for sure.

I don’t know of any 80 hp tractor that only weighs 5500 pounds. Why don’t you 4bt Cummins swap that thing? Or from a lot more realistic idea why don’t you self power the blower and stop robbing power from the tractor.

I'd hafta check to verify, but I believe my 95hp tractor weighs 5500.

With a cab and blower?

I was responding to your statement, I don’t know of any 80 hp tractor that only weighs 5500 pounds

My point was bare tractors don't weigh nearly as much as one might think. It's when we start adding items that they gain weight. :)

The M95 weighs 6,000 with a cab and probably at least a thousand more with a blower. But that’s still a lot better power to weight ratio than Fred’s tractor.

Yep. And I believe that has been Fred's problem with the tractor all along. Power to weight ratio. I agree that this isn't exclusive to Kubota.

In the tractor world and construction equipment world, HP equals $$$. Same machine with more/less HP costs more/less $$$. Great marketing ploy.

For Kubota I think they went a little overboard with the L3240. Or maybe I should have said underboard. :)
