I Still Hate My Tractor II

Yep. And I believe that has been Fred's problem with the tractor all along. Power to weight ratio. I agree that this isn't exclusive to Kubota.

In the tractor world and construction equipment world, HP equals $$$. Same machine with more/less HP costs more/less $$$. Great marketing ploy.

For Kubota I think they went a little overboard with the L3240. Or maybe I should have said underboard. :)

My L3240 was a fine tractor. A little slow it times but it got the job done. But then again adding 5 or 10 hp couldn’t cost much or anything and it would be a lot better then. It will work circles around the economy series like the L3901. But then again I wasn’t trying to run a blower that took more power than I had available and drive up hill.

Why did you sell it?

The backhoe wasn’t strong enough was the biggest problem. I needed a stronger loader too. I sold it and bought a John Deere 310. I loved the backhoe but hated the lack of QA front bucket. It was going to cost big money to set it up the way I wanted and even more to get a grapple and pallet forks it wouldn’t wad up. I traded it for my M59 which gained a SSQA front bucket, front 3rd function hydraulics, rear hydraulic thumb with the 3rd function kit and the ability to drop off the backhoe for working in tight places. The M59 backhoe was quite a downgrade from the 310 but overall it’s a better fit. My equipment is 99 percent used for loader and backhoe work which doesn’t take a lot of power. If you wanted to drive up hill or do any ground engagement work the L3240 got weak quick.

Well she blew up again, not sure what happened but I'll find out tomorrow. I think it had like 4 hours on the new pistons.

I really miss the turbocharger, it takes so long to get anything done without it, groundwork or blowing snow that is.

I'll give you guys a little tip if you haven't already learned the hard way like me.

Tractors, like anything else, come apart easier the second time around.

Hey like me or don't like me, I still HATE my tractor!

Looked at 2new Kiotis this week but there's no way to trade or peddle this thing with a bad engine.

Why don’t you look at a skid steer? They have a lot more power than tractors in most cases.

My driveway is very steep and slippery, we get lots of ice also. I Never tried one but it would need some serious ice picks to plow my mess.

Sorry to hear that Fred. I'm curious what you find when you get it apart. Thanks for the update.

[Hey like me or don't like me, I still HATE my tractor! ]

I like you Fred! Keep up the good work!

Maybe you could repost your Clown video from a few years back? I thought it was hilarious

Sorry about your engine.
