Yes I thought so to and to think I never heard of electric starting saw til couple months ago and this was made 50 years ago, just wonder why did they stop making them.... One would think that pro tree removal services would love a electric starting saw especially when up 20' ft in a tree. I sure would just on the ground and with todays new battery technology electric starting saws would be very easy to produce and light weight.....

Professional saws are so much about weight that I do not see it unless it is completely detachable, motor and battery. (Which could be done). Weekend warrior saws more likely

I always figured they should have a place to hook a cordless drill to start it the first time...

Pretty much anyone who owns a gas powered chainsaw also owns a drill and usually a cordless drill.

I wish that I had bought one instead of my big Echo. I haven't been able to do the things I bought it for, and on more than one occasion it's been in the shed when I needed it in the truck. The electric Echo would have been less money and will fit behind the seat of the pickup.

I meant to add that. I can put a spill pad down to catch any B&C leakage, but don't need to be smelling gas fumes all of the time that I'm driving.
