Well can we get this back on track a bit, maybe.

Old Grey Mare,
You are concerned with your tire inflation pressures and the possibility of a calcium leak.
I do not know what you have for an air compressor or tire gauges.

As has been mentioned to check the air pressure and even to add air your tire valve stems should be at the 12 o'clock position.
You should give the tire a shot of air before measuring the pressure, to clear the calcium out of the valve stem.
If you use a gauge be aware that you should have a low pressure gauge as your tires likely have a MAXIMUM pressure of around 25#.
This MAXIMUM pressure is NOT the recommended operating pressure.
It does not hurt to have a bit of a sidewall bulge on your tires, especially the rears.
Ifr you do a lot of bucket work with heavy loads you can run your fronts close to the maximum pressure.
The rears should have full ground contact with at least one and preferably 2 or 3 sets of tire lugs.
I only run around 13# in the rears on my Branson and my IH.
A couple of the larger farm tractors we do run 20#s in to reduce the sidehill roll of those tall radials.
Also if you get any calcium in your gauge you can try and draw some water in and out of it to rinse it,
but you will most likely end up needing a new gauge.

I very seldom use a gauge on a rear tractor tire, I almost always use one on implement and truck and car tires.

Glad you got your tractor out with no issues,
stay safe and enjoy.

Lou

I wanted to add this if you do have a leak in those tires, call around there should be a mobile tire repair outfit that makes house calls.
Or have your tractor trucked to a tire shop, you should not attempt to remove a liquid filled tire.
Yes, it is expensive to have a tire truck come to you.

...I wish the people here were like those in Idaho, but they're not. For example, I had a load of hay delivered and a bale fell off onto the dirt road. 30 minutes later they guys went to retrieve it and it was gone/stolen! In Idaho someone would have moved it to the side or even brought it to my place. Big difference in neighborliness

OP is from Ash Fork and this is some sad news for a older couple from there.

Elderly couple found dead buried under snow, police say - CNN

Lets take thread on another tangent.

Interesting (or telling) quote from the article: "Other residents in the area had seen the couple's abandoned car for about a week and wondered why it had not yet been towed, Haas said. " -They didn't wonder: "Why is this elderly couple's car abandoned here after the storm? Are they ok? Has anybody seen them? Any other tracks or lights at their house? Nope! They wondered "Why hasn't it been towed away yet!? Somebody move that car!"

I hate having to inform you of this Judy, but your neighbors are ***holes!

(Don't marry any of them! )

Tires with ballast are more prone to changes in temps because they have much less air in them. That is why we all have to adjust front tire pressure more than the large rear tires, because they have less air capacity. I think the ROPs on the tractor would have been severely compromised long before the rear tire was damaged.

LikeI said...they people here are NOT neighborly. I can't imagine myself driving by an abandoned car for a week and seeing what looked like a dead animal.

At least notice the empty home or barking dogs or something wrong!

I'm still waiting for SF to return my phone-tag calls. This rep sure isn't in any hurry

PS...I don't plan on marrying anyone from here or anywhere. Been there, done that!!

Hey there "judy"
So glad the MF is out of trouble. You definitely take good care of it as evidenced by the photos of it and your truck. Photos of rear tire do not indicate a brine leak. Get the tire pumped up and it should be good to go. Rotate it so that the valve stem is at the top, and as others pointed out...let a little air pressure out first to 'bleed' brine from the valve stem before adding air. As for the shed: photos show that it was clearly only built as a sun/rain shelter. No real thought was put into it for any type of loading. If you were interested in saving/resurrecting it, I would strongly suggest getting some competent help...possibly someone known from a local building supply or the like. However, do not do anything to it until advised by your insurance adjuster...not knowing your deductible, it may be a moot point. Best of wishes and enjoy your horses, tractor, and truck.

If the insurance comes through I would recommend a metal building or carport.

a single, older person, whose kids are far away should move to a friendly area, where you are now, the neighbors don't care about you, you may need to cry out for help sometime, and just die in pain, because your neighbors don't care!.. maybe people in hot climates get weird, since I've never heard of unfriendly neighbors on the northeast coast!..
