Today, post-op 4, was a successful day. Her color is returning, she liked sitting in a chair for about 45 minutes at a time, she walked around the room and 85 feet down the hallway...with a safety belt around her chest, back brace, walker and a nurse at her side. Oh, and a second hospital gown worn backwards to cover the "gap".

The meds have the pain level at a steady 3 out of 10 at rest. She is content with that, for fear of becoming high or addicted to the pain meds.

Again, thank you my friends for the kind words and thoughts.

Every time my wife gets on a ladder, uses a knife, or does anything that can turn bad I cringe.
Once you get up in age the mind says you can do anything while the body had different ideas on what you can and can not do.
Myself, I've been moving a lot slower lately and really thinking hard on every move I make as I'm not a nimble as I once was climbing around things.

Sending prayers, light, and Angels to you and your wife.

Sorry to read the news. I sure hope she continues her progress!

It only takes a second. Ask me how I know.

When I went down, my phone was about 10 feet away. If I had landed on the ladder or any of the other stuff laying around and had been unable to move, that 10 feet might as well have been a mile.

We need to keep phones on our person some how (and hope we don't land on it and break it). Just an FYI for those that don't already know, you do not need a paid monthly service to make an emergency call. Any phone that can get a cell signal can be used. Some might consider picking up an extra or two to have on hand. I've seen them for $10-15 in some places. Maybe keep a cheap flip phone in your pocket while doing certain tasks rather than your more expensive smart one.

At my age the more vivid the imagination. I felt a twinge of heart break reading this as the mental image of your story played out.

I just watched one of my favorite channels and this product review.
A tad late but maybe it will benefit members here in the future.

Oh how so true, as I watch wife use a knife to cut a tomato, any food etc.......this past week cleared out 175' or so of property fence line. Crepe myrtles ignored for over 40 years plus over growth. All alone and yes, prejob planning is vital.......as much as I enjoy volunteer work I may have to readjust how that's going play out in the future.
On the fourth day I felt like I went 1/4 round with Bruce Lee.....Well a B-12 tab will provide lots of energy and I worked like I was at least fifty....lol.....
Mind speaks one way body says otherwise....maybe, one day us men will listen...?????......Nah.......:)
