In that video, I think you can see a star in the cab glass where the operator hit his face!

And a scut goes about 8mph? Is this enough speed for this type of blade?

You'll push snow but it won't curl as it would mounted on a truck.
Also when loaded it will want to push your front sideways, so much so tour front wheels might suffer.

(I run a 60 inch on my CUT)
I had mine manually angled but modified it to straight push with side wing.

Dang some people plow fast, I had to plow and scrape this afternoon,
I was flying down the driveway at a whopping 5 mph.
I scrape right down to the dirt and gravel trimming the high points,
even when I plowed with trucks it was low range and first usually and not much faster speed.

One thing you might run into, if there's enough ground roughness to catch your blade, is the front wheels rising up. The problem is that the loader arm pivot point on the tractor is up high, somewhere around operator height. On a purpose-built dozer blade mount, the pivot points are about as low as they can get without hitting the ground, so the floating blade force pushes almost straight back on the tractor near the bottom. With your loader floating, the force pushing back on the tractor is partly upwards and is several feet above the ground.

I guess another thing is that loader frames are bigger than dozer frames, and longer, so the down force when floating may be more than you want.

But, hey, if it's working for people, it's working for people.

Most "factory built" front snow plows don't have "float built into the plow itself" or very little;most coverted truck plows "do" have built in float via a chain.Much easier to float the plow and not the FEL.

I push at 14-18mph with our Road Grader. It keeps you alert. :)

I could plow faster but it would just tear things up. Our gravel/dirt field roads and driveways tend to thaw a bit between storms and then get ruts in them so your if your trying to clean most of the snow off so it doesn't pack and polish out to ice your blades are catching frozen dirt on the first passes. If you are in a low traffic area and can leave some snow pack to build up then you can safely plow faster the next storm if it hasn't thawed. Our towns don't plow much with the graders anymore, they used to but now it's mostly trucks with trip blades so then can slam and go digging and plowing dirt and filling the ditches. The last grader our town plowed with was just over 100 hp and with the belly blade and wing out she couldn't plow at much more then 8-10 mph. The old ones had some float and they did have shoes for it, does your newer one have shoes or are you having to maintain the blade height?

I mounted my rear blade on a SSQA adapter plate (see link) and use it for light snow plowing and back blading where the blower cannot get to easily. I have not pushed deep heavy snow so cannot comment on how it works on a dumping of snow. A thick wall plastic piping from a gas/oil well was added to the edge as I have gravel. I do not go fast and know my area so hope a trip edge is not crucial.

For $200 delivered is has been a worthwhile addition. A "proper" FEL mounted blade is about $2500 so a huge savings.

Sounds like you guys have more surface to clear than me. I'm just doing my driveway/side drive (~5k sq ft) and maybe the neighbor's if he needs help.
