Best way for clearing HUNDREDS of stumps?

And if you cut the lumber off that stump & push the sumps into a pile it will be even better. As you push & tumble the stumps more dirt will get knocked free. I'm sure efficiency will vary between tree & soil type. Oak trees & clay will be much stickier than those pine in Florida sand. But that goes for a dozer as well as an excavator. An excavator tossing & dropping a stump probably removes as much dirt as a dozer tumbling & scraping the stump.

Maybe a logger is interested in the original trees and pay you some. ( Leave stumps high enough for the excavator to have leverage ). Than clear the rest. Don't excavate big trees yourself! Way to dangerous.

I'd recommend checking with the local zoning office to make sure you don't need a permit. Zoning regulations (especially environmental) have changed in 30 years. You only need one neighbor to call the county "after" or "during" work to cause you problems. Don't ask how I know.

I spoke with the town when I bought my paramotor, to see if there were any ordinances that would dictate where on my property I should place my "airfield". As long as it's not being used commercially, and I'm not building any structures, they said I could clear cut the entire property for all they care.

I wouldn''t even worry about leaving high stumps, it's just that much more wood to get rid of later. A good operator with the right machine will pop them right out of the ground.

Before having my own land cleared I asked a lot of questions of people who know including those who ran equipment, and the farmer I was working for. I was leaning toward a D7 with a stump rake but they all told me just what I said above.

Edit; I have watched the video and stand behind my original comment. Furthermore, not only do you have a stump pile to get rid of but also the entire tree, and up here I would rather see them go into the log or pulpwood pile.

that's good. cost me a few grand in legal fees and to hire an civil engineer to confirm/prove..."I did not violate any regulations".
