Are there any refrigerator companies that make a reliable fridge anymore ??

7 pages of antidotes about this brand or that brand. Might as well ask if Fords or Chevys are better. " I had a dentist who's cousin's neighbor once had a Chevy, and he had to get the exhaust replaced! -so I know Chevys aren't any good! " - This is what these 7 pages sound like. :banghead:
There's maybe 2 posts about what the problem might actually be.
Given that the freezer works (and thus the compressor, etc..), I'd bet it's a 15 cent ($30 dollar retail) problem.

What tests has repairman suggested?

GE Repair man now thats the funny part.Called GE about a getting service person they stated we have NO ONE who services your area sorry about your bad luck.Called 2 local repair shops they stated we will not service GE products to long to get parts.Hence the purchase of the new fridge.The old fridge and new fridge do not have Ice makers.

If the freezer works well, there's probably a limited amount of things that can go wrong to prevent fridge from being cold.
Why isn't the air moving from freezer to fridge? You can usually feel the air moving.
You stated fan works.
Were ducts blocked by something? Ice?
This can be hard to troubleshoot once you unplug and manually defrost as problem goes away until ice builds up again.
If ice, is it there because freezer is not defrosting, or defrosting but not draining so ice reforms?
I've also seen defrost heater get stuck on.

Unplugged fridge for 24 hours to let thaw(no ice) no help.Tore everything off back and inside of fridge no help.Old fridge is on the truck headed north new one is in place.Fingers crossed that we have a good one this time around.

I guess why fridge didn’t cool when freezer did will just be one of those mysteries like Bigfoot.

Some credit card companies will double the manufactures warranty if you use their card. Many want to check this out if you charged the refrigerator. I bought a Samsung from Costco last year. For an extra $100 I got and extended warranty and then the cc company added two years for a total of 7 years under warranty and I'm keeping all receipts and small print papers.

Scan the receipts too, a lot used a soy based ink for printing and after a few months you just have a piece of blank paper even if kept in a dark place.

I bought it on-line so the receipt is only from my printer. Good advice, I have had receipts fade away.
