Not always. Buddy JUST informed me this morning he’s been talking to Miller for a week. The board in his Syncrowave is toast and obsolete. He then took (all 300 pounds of it )to the authorized service center to pay them $240 to tell him they couldn’t do anything.

Send him here. Likely he'll find just what he needs. If not, they can probably fix the one he has.

Hobart has gotten Miller cast-offs. They used to be fairly one to one, but now that Miller has gone to mostly inverter MIGs Hobart is stuck with the older transformer designs.

As far as made in USA, or assembled in USA, this is one of their units they say is made in Wisconsin, the new multimatic 220. Look at the Mex, and Made in Mexico on every board.

Care to show us pictures of your circuit boards?

How old of a Syncrowave?

The older Syncro's were actually made in Appleton WI. That ship sailed 10-12 yrs ago. Still a formidable unit that changed everything. Nothing like the Dynasty or the Lorch 301 of today but.. Too bad it popped a board. There are bazillions of them out there in various stages of repair so If you send me the S/N and board info I might be able to find a used one. Who knows..

Dale,
No Problem.
I don't have a lot right now on my computer since I had to put a new hard drive in, but I went back and found a few on a back up disk from 2016. These are I think of the PowerMTS 252STi. (DC MIG TIG Stick)
We make no bones about ours being made in China. But they are made from name brand components, many with home bases here in the USA, and the part numbers are common and visible. Edit: I went back and found one of the MTS 400 I had posted here years ago, (the last one) and is probably from around 2011 to 2012.

Don’t know for certain.

Well, if it is something out of the late 80s your point loses a bit of its edge. What I can tell you is that I've never had better customer service than with Miller.
